Don't you shoot RAW?

If so, those settings only show up on the jpeg preview. The RAW file can still be mucked with any way you want including resetting everything back to neutral (or to Vivid).

I don't have Nikon but if I shoot jpeg with my Canon I always use neutral - I hate the camera setting the contrast etc.

Ruger, or others....do any of you use a Nikon D90?

My newest is the D90, I'm happy with it, would have preferred a D3 or D300 but couldn't afford. Nice camera, its main benefit over the D80 is low noise at higher ISO. If you'd like to use it for some test shots let's know.

PC, if i ever decide to sell mine, i'll offer it to you first. I havnt even pulled it out in the last month...except for yesterday. The cooler weather is more motivation. I shoot at work, but that is boring photography.

Is the D90 smaller/lighter than the other Nikon dSLRs?

It's definitely smaller and lighter than the D3/D300/D700 varieties, though i think probably heavier than the rest of the mid-range models.

Eta - Just looked it up:

D3 - 1.240kg

D700 - 995g

D300 - 825g

D90 - 620g

D70s - 600g
