3Woofs Posted March 30, 2009 Share Posted March 30, 2009 In the future I would love to get a Chihuahua and was wondering if anyone has ever litter trained a dog? What do people in apartments do while they're not home? I can't have a doggy door because I have an inside cat who can never be let out and I wouldn't leave a chihuahua outside unless I was there to supervise since I have two staffys who might squash it by playing too rough. I had had the sweetest Chihuahua's ,Mork and Minty , Mork was a outside dog Minty inside,we had a tray in 1 of the toilet's,but she always went in the shower (made it even easier ) She went away 2 yrs ago ,but i now have MinMin Anyhow,i found it pretty easy. Puppy wee pads (you can buy proper holders for these or place them in a tray) Or one of those doggy loo things with the synthetic grass on top and tray underneath. I would think that litter training a puppy would be the same as normal toilet training; place the puppy in the tray every hour and after meals, instuct puppy to 'go' and reward and praise when it does.
