badboyz
My biggest worry, especially with puppies, is them seriously injuring themselves if for some reason they decide to jump off during the night. I have chi's in the house and my male spent the first year sleeping in a crate in my sons room, and now he is fully grown, sleeps on my sons bed with him. My baby chi sleeps in the laundry in her own bed for now. When she is fully grown she may be allowed on a bed too. I prefer them to sleep apart, as I do not want them too reliant on each other, as there will be times when they will need to be separated. Chi's do tend to jump at strange noises, so could be inclined to jump off the bed at night. They do not realize how small they are. IMO strict rules in a puppy create a well balanced well behaved dog, and the rules can be relaxed later as an adult. A dog that can sleep on its own will be much less stressed if they need to sleep elsewhere (eg. vet/boarding kennel/holiday houseing). puggy_puggy
The pugs sleep in bed with me. When my boy was a puppy he slept in his own bed and had snuggle time in mine. I'm no sure how long it was before he started sleeping in bed with me every night. With my girl she basically slept in bed with me from the age of 8 weeks. Both of them are fine wih sleeping in their own bed if I tell them to. They both know what 'snuggle' means. I have doggy steps for my bed so sometimes they will take themselves off to be before me if I am up late.

Eve86
I work away so my other half lets our small dogs sleep in the bed but it's starting to get annoying as its affecting my sleep if the dogs are pushing you off the bed....just started last night to tell them to get off but they snuck in about four times ha ha, having said that it is pretty cute when they try and mimic you and put their head on the pillow just like mum and dad do. tramissa
Jonno sleeps wherever I tell him to. Minnie is always on the bed - perks of age and being a good girl Jonno is on the bed most nights, but usually ends up on the floor after a snuggle. Last night both were on the bed all night and I woke up with a dog under each arm *grin*. The aircon got a bit chilly for them I think. They don't normally like being under the blanket. Andreia Dias
A few minutes before the alarm goes off in the mornings we usually hear our dog entering the bedroom and invite her to jump on the bed for a cuddle. I love waking up this way! She leaves the bed when we say "off" =) The other day she was not feeling very well so we let her sleep in our bed and she woke up very cheerful, yay! On the other hand I woke up with a sore neck & back. She is 32kg and takes a lot of space in bed =p
Bindii
Hugo sleeps on the bed... It started in the exact same way (crate then early morning pee trip then snuggle in the bed) that only lasted a few weeks for us and since then he's in the bed. Mainly because it took about 15 mins to get him to stop barking and go to sleep which i couldn't be bothered doing at 5am. I love having him in the bed, keeps me nice and toasty (OH gets overheated, but Hugo and i snuggle up all night!). In fact, for the first time ever last night Hugo got off the bed and slept on the floor!! I felt rejected Fletcher, on the other hand, is going to be crated over night until he's learnt to ask at the door to go to the toilet, or hold on until we let him... because at the moment he's holding in his crate but still pees anywhere he pleases while roaming around the house. He's a fabulous crater though... sleeps as soon as we put him in there at any time of the day/night and quietly asks to get out for a wee. We had a few accidents on the bed with Hugo when he was a pup still and i don't want to go through all that again!
