martymonty
I am just very curious to get everyones opinons as to when a puppy's bladder can hold urine for more than 20 min. My little lab is peeing ALL the time, every 15 - 20 min. even though she sleeps through the night (so she can obviously hold it) She is just 8 weeks old so I'm thinking I should notice a difference in the next month or so. She also pees constantly if people are over, not total peeing, but she starts to dribble and then we have to run to take her out. Please tell me this will end soon, I have had lots of dogs before and DO NOT remember this being so hard.
luvsdogs
I would take her & a urine sample to the vets. She may have a bladder infection. She should be able to hold for an hour. The dribbling when ppl are over can be submissive urination & is normal for some puppies.

Basically- ignore her unless she is sitting/standing quietly
Danois
The puppy is 8 weeks - how long have you had it? Could it be a case that the puppy is just settling into new routines? (of course also get the vet check)
Stitch
The two pups I am running on at the moment went through that. They are now 15 weeks old and are not peeing anywhere near the same frequency as they were previously. Still it is worth getting a sample and taking it to the vet, maybe when you have your next immunisations. Also, the hotter they are the more they drink and what goes in one end comes out the other. Dry dog food or salty dogfood will also make them drink more.
Danois
She should be able to hold for an hour. For 8 weeks old I would say this is the maximum time to go between urinating. When Boo was a little pup he was also peeing with excitement or nerves sometimes - if it was in relation to someone coming to the house then they ignored him until he was calm. Sometimes it was in relation to meeting other dogs - I ignored the behaviour. He grew out of both quite quickly.
