4 Paws
Only started agility 7 weeks ago and started doing weave poles last week.Am interested in buying a set for home use and found weave poles at Airdogs but soemone that does agility mentioned she didn't think they were competition standard ,that they were smaller. Can any knowledgable agility tell me if they are suitable? http://www.airdogs.com.au/agility/home.php?cat=
JulesP
They are shorter and closer together than ANKC weavers. The height wouldn't bother me but the space might be an issue. I would get 2 sets so that I had 12 poles. The other agility mob ADAA ? might have different spacing in their weavers. I seem to remember getting 2 different measurements when I asked. Don't suppose anyone has one of the Airdog tunnels??
Vickie
I spoke to them recently. Their poles are 550mm (ADAA), but they said they can do them at 600mm (ANKC) for the same price.

Roguedog
are the airdogs tunnels any good? will they fit a medium size dog through comfortably?
Kavik
I have a tunnel from there. Pretty good quality, not as good as competition, but certainly good enough for backyard practice. Fits my GSD no problems (though he is harder on it than the Kelpies!).
Roguedog
Thanks Kavik, will place my order for their tunnel asap, any recommendations for buying jumps and weavepoles?
ness
I really love my weave poles that I purchased from Murray Tyler in Victoria - on a base plate and good quality although not exceedingly cheap either.

Nicole...
We've got all the flash things at our house... our weave poles are garden stakes (the ones made of recycled cardboard or something similar), I got a cheap heavy duty kids tunnel on ebay and we made our own jumps out of electrical conduit pipes and an old motorbike tyre for a tyre jump. I don't think you need the flash stuff, so long as what you have is safe eg jumps that fall off when knocked. We frequently get comments on how great Lomani's weaves are and that is all from the work she does at home with the garden stakes so I don't think it affects training... just make sure the colours are similar to what they will use at club. Kavik
kids tunnels are great! I have one of those as well, great for small dogs and puppies. Unfortunately Kaos outgrew this so I needed a bigger tunnel Zoe can use it though.
JulesP
A guy at my clubs makes weavers and jumps. The weavers are individual metal doo-dads that pipe slots into so you have total flexibility of how they go. I would like a tunnel though.
rastus_froggy
our club is telling us spacing is 55cm,is that wrong? Depends if your club is ANKC or ADAA, if it's ADAA it's right, if it's ANKC it's 60, but once your dog has got it, it really doesnt make that much difference to them.
