Very well done Zig, you've been training Sal up a treat! Hope she gave you a decent treat for all your hardwork?

;) He had 2 chicken frames for dinner! The lad isn't interested in getting up this morning either......he did huge zoomies on the oval after the trial had finished and it's all catching up with him now :happydance:

Thanks JulesP, Janba and RS! Hopefully not too far from Novice, RS.....the Dally club is holding a restricted to Group 7 trial at the end of August, which I'd really like to enter. I'll consider the State trial too (early August?) but I am away for half of July in Cairns and Horsham, then moving house, so not much chance for training. Then again, it might just freshen him up!

ETA: Sorry, RA - I don't have a video! It's something I really need to do though as I have no idea what's going on in Spotty land in a trial as I just look straight ahead and hope for the best :champagne:

My turn for a brag - not trial related but I took both of mine out to a mock obedience trial today. I put Ness in UD and Kenzie in Novice - was tossing up between doing CCD and Novice but when I got there there were already plenty of CCD dogs already listed and I didn't feel like staying all day and not all that many Novice dogs and besides we only train off-lead anyway.

Ness was pretty average - did some nice heelwork but the rest of her UD seems to have fallen into that hole that all UD performances go into :champagne: . Kenzie on the other hand worked her little black and white socks off. No its not perfect and its still a huge work in progress. No she still doesn't have a stand for exam and neither have I forced the issue on her yet. Her heelwork was nice. She was happy to play with me in the ring with a potentially "scary" judge. In fact she hardly even noticed the judge. Her inattention in parts was a typical novice problem and more a training issue as I tend to not push for duration and she hasn't really done to much in the way of called heel patterns. She had fun on her recall - hmmm note to self train a longer distance recall as it was much longer then I thought.

She did a very nice change of position drop and even when the judge left me standing there for ages before returning and I thought she might move she stayed put until I returned and released her ;) .

All up I am very pleased with my little stress head black and white munchkin. With her performance today I can see her working to her true potential in a trial ring (rather than what I know she is capable of but when I try and run her through at training she just panics and loses the plot). Gives me hope and makes me think its worth continuing and working through it all slowly.

Any way hope everybody else had a good weekend out :happydance: .

Congrats to everyone on their passes and/or training achievements.

I am being greedy with brags lately, the latest is....

Minty got her CDX title at Broadmeadows today :(:laugh:

After 4 years in Open and a myriad of disappointments, we finally got it together to finish off the title. She actually heeled like she knew how! Which says a lot for how I handled the ring nerves this time - I spent an hour meditating outside the ring as we were last in. Luckily, it worked :)

Funnily enough, all our Open passes have been at Broadmeadows - the first one 4 years ago, then I skipped a year due to other commitments, got a pass in horrendous weather conditions last year and backed it up this year - she really has a thing for Broady :)

And to top it off, first in the ring :o

I said I'd retire her after she got Open, but we've already started training UD exercises. I really am a sucker for punishment.

Got any bubbles left TSD?

Thanks RubyStar, got an agility trial on Sat and then I am giving the dogs 2 months off to recover from all the hard work I've put them through  They are very forgiving creatures.

Yep of course I got miss Kenzie videoed  . Gawd some of my handling is horrid though and I really need to teach the poor girl to turn rather than expecting it. Oops and do finishes. I gave her a command to heel after the recall and then went oh crap she doesn't do that yet :( . Well at least not on the command heel  . She has a sort of flip finish on the command close :) .

Here is the video - she is very rough around the edges still but you have to remember this is my nervous, shy dog so to have even worked as well as she did, considering I was prepared for total shut down I am just chuffed.

:) Go Cash! Congratulations on your second ET! When you said you were doing both dogs I didn't realise you were going nearly back to back. Well done!! :)

Will I see you at Sunbury or Berwick?

I'll be at Sunbury.

Doing both ETs in the same month meant I didn't have a chance to let my fitness slide  I thought that was pretty clever on my part :)

Fabulous work everyone. ET and CDX so close together is great stuff.

TSD brilliant work with Ziggy, you'll be off to pinch all the 1st's in novice now right? Seriously though well done three for three is just fantastic.

We went to the mock trial at Enfield yesterday too, CCD, & I was so pleased with my two, Pebbles did a beautiful stand for exam. Because both were in the same ring I had to get someone else to take Izzi in the sit & drop stays, no one else has ever handled Izzi before, & she never moved in either, I love my girls :( . Pretty sure my scores were VERY generous but I'm still happy with the way Pebbles & Izzi worked, & I'll find out how generous next weekend at Gawler :) .
