tlc
HI GUys, I was wondering if anyone can answer a couple of questions for me, the first one is There is a tamron lense Im thinking of getting for my D80 it is 18 - 250 so a longer focal length that my 18 - 135 but on the box it says Macro, I was wondering what that actually means, it isnt a macro lense but it says macro on the box?? Does it just mean that I will be able to get a little closer to things and the lense still be able to focus? I am new to the whole lense thing, I got my 50mm for chrissy and it is fab and the only other lense I have is my 18 - 135. So if anyone can shed some light on how much better the 18 - 250 macro will be Id be very greatful!!
Luke W
Yep, it would allow closer focusing than your 18-135 It might be slow and hard to focus at the long end. What do you want another lens for? This one overlaps your current 18-135 by a large amount. If it's macro you want, you might consider extension tubes for your 50mm. If it's a longer zoom, you might consider something without quite such a large range. If you just want a single lens that can zoom from wide to reasonably long and are willing to sacrifice some performance (especially in lowish light) for convenience, this lens might be a good choice.
