Kavik
This is Diesel's finish Kavik - I would guess some of the judges, certainly in WA, would take a point off in UD and UDX for the turn of the shoulders - as it could be considered a double signal. Will the dog still finish as nicely without you doing it. He probably wouldn't finish as nicely without it - though to be honest it isn't something I've even thought about Considering I can't get him working nicely in busy places to even put him in CCD it is not something I am worried about at the moment - I'm happy if I can get him to do it at all! Fair enough - lets class it as a work in progress then I would be happy if Scoota did it as controlled as your dog did.
Kavik
He does controlled fairly well - it's excited he isn't so good at
The Spotted Devil
Quick question - for some reason I use the same command for both finishes and just use different hands - to be honest I didn't put much any thought into it at the time. What do others do?
leopuppy04
*ponders* *tries to remember what her command for both ways are* I think I'm the same TSD because my 'heel' is the position by my left side - my hand is directing them which way I want them to go I'm the same as you... I didn't put much thought into it either

RubyStar
ETA: so this person would get pinged hey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WW-HXi-0a_U That chick was more entertaining than the dog
PAX
I think that you do get pinged if you ask for one sort of finish and the dog offers the other one. Perhaps that was the problem Ness? I asked my dog to finish around and she flip fininshed in Open and never got pinged, I don't think it matters as long as the signal is not extended. If the siganl is short, how would the Judge know what my signal was anyway?
xena98
Not sure why that should matter Jules. You have given the dog a signal to finish (as it was in this case). The signal you use is irrelevant. There is nothing in the rules to dictate the signal you use as long as its not extended. Like I said it wasn't of consequence to me and I got a bit of a laugh out of the fact she had offered the other finish. I've had that happened told her to finish and not back and she did back judged laughed but still scored me
