Ear Drops

Your vet should have shown you how to do this

Are you having difficulties with getting the drops in the ear canal itself or with the getting near the sore ear to administer the drops?

The vet only gave me a verbal lesson - I should have asked her to do it in front of me. I am having trouble getting in the canal as she won't sit still - I don't think it is because it hurts - she just won't stop playing around. I got a tip about putting her in a corner - will try that tonight.

You can sit her between your legs on the couch too.

Don't pull the ear tight over the top of her head when you open it. Just lift it straight up.

Pulling the ear tightly closes the ear canal and means the drops only end up on the outer part of the ear. Just lift, put the container into the ear canal, squirt, drop the ear and massage it.

If you hear a squishing sound, you'll know you got them in.
