chepet
What does the vet say? I haven't been to the vet as we have started him on the barf diet ,for his allergies ,he started this vomiting about the same time ,I posted about vomiting then & was told it can be normal for a few weeks ,but he's had no improvement ,so now I'm trying the Purina sensitive skin & stomach food ,he's only been on that about a week , what I want to know is , do dogs normally eat grass & vomit ? & do I need to take him to the vet ? persephone
A dog vomiting every day is not normal. When does he vomit? Mornings? On an empty stomach? Straight after a meal? No particular time? How many meals a day is he on?
puggy_puggy
What exaclty where you feeding him? Could have been that it was to fatty. Years ago, before I knew how crappy they were, I uused to feed pigs ears and my pug boy would always vomit up bile afterwards. I finally worked out that it was the pigs ears and they are full of fat which was making him sick. These days I feed a total BARf diet with no problems. Sandra777
In addition to all the above, how much bone is he getting? Is there ever any bone in his vomit (I guess you would have said so). Quite often a dog new to BARF doesn't have the right digestive components to digest all the bone they get so they vomit it back up. If he's getting pre-made patties or minced chicken with bone included you probably won't see any bone and it's unlikely this would cause vomiting, but not impossible. Ons
take him to the vet for blood tests pancreatitis for one I've also heard of a dog having a part blockage which caused vomiting, I would have thought that there would have had to be other symptoms though but apparently there weren't I've just had the same problem with my golden retreiver so I got blood tests and insisted the vet did a thorough ultrasound on her. Lucky everything is fine on that side, I've come to the conclusion that Tilly has developed a severe food sensitiviity but it was good to make sure there weren't any underlying health issues. SoL
my boy Chester went through the same thing, vomiting up undigested food every single morning. Turned out he had a blocked bowel. He was lucky, could have been a lot more serious requiring surgery. As it was, a good cleanout, an enema and a few laxatives sorted him out (he walked funny for a few days though!). Get him to the vet asap. If it is a twisted bowel then it needs to be addressed pronto.

persephone
ahh.. he may well be reacting to acid irritating his empty stomach... Will he eat a snack just at bedtime ? My Kieran used to do this when young.. every morning, he would wake up, and throw up I started giving him a bedtime snack..and this helped. Whatever you are feeding may get digested too quickly- leaving his stomach empty.. not sure. will he eat chicken?or lean lamb? A piece of meat at bedtime may give his tummy something to work on during the night, and sop up the acid...after all. that's what it's there for
