Uuurghhh....over, over, over this weather! 3 out of 5 of us at work spent our lunch hours digging trenches to stop the water getting in our homes. So far, so good but it can fine up now so I can get a good nights sleep and not stress about stuff I have no control over!

Jess...great pictures! I would have loved to have gone for a look-see but its way too dangerous. Apparently the Cobden pool is flooded up to the shed roofs!!!! All the old-timers say they have never seen 24 hours like this before so hopefully its a once in a 100 year event!

Tlc...be very very careful driving tomorrow. By the sounds of it, you will be following the weather to Gippsland so take it easy. Sorry, I didn't see Bronsons spot on Sunday. Thats the problem with my two...Always got an eye on them so I miss every thing else! It was great to have a nice pat with Cooper at training as my two were in the car. I remember thinking that it was the first time I had had a 'proper' pat of him!!!

My sister and I actually too the dogs for a walk tonight as they were climbing the walls abit and it was damn scary. The rain had eased of but the wind was unbelievable! I was petrified a tree branch would come down. Thank God the trees are still bare...with them in full leaf, I think the damage would have been horrible!

I hope everyone stays safe and sound and warm and dry!

I had to take my car to Wbool this morning because the back brakes sounded like metal on metal so in between sitting on 80 km most of the way and then getting stuck at the Speedway it wasn't a fun trip  But I did get to see plenty of water along the way, even more so on the way back. I so wanted to stop and get some photos but it was pissing down rain and there was nowhere safe to pull over to get good photos. I later realised my camera memory card was still sitting in my computer so I wouldn't have got them anyway

There was a heap of people checking out the dam and pool in Cobden, the water is halfway up the big overhead light posts at the pool and there was an absolute river running through the golf course so it's not over yet.

So many farms are under water - we'll need 2 weeks of sunshine and wind to dry this out and there's none on the forecast ;)

Re: keeping water out - I'd say you and quite a few others in town tez. By hell I curse my slopey backyard when I mow it and want to use it for training, but there is a lot to be said in this weather for living on the side of a hill.

Being on the side of a hill definitely has its advantages Jess!

Our back door is actually 2 steps below our backyard!!! Whoever thought THAT was a good idea had rocks in their heads! After sloshing around in the backyard yesterday, I looked at the big storm water drain that runs under our nature strip( There is a large metal grate every 20 or 30 metres) and realised it was dry! Needless to say, I made a call to the shire and nicely suggested they clean the thing out!

I think the lack of drain cleaning contributed to a lot of yesterday's mess

I'd forgotten about it but one of my farmers that I deal with predicted this several months ago, back when our friends at BOM were predicting a warm dry winter with around the 100 mm of rain for the entire winter :) Anyway he came up in conversation today and I remembered what he'd told me, that the springs were running that hard the ground had lifted, and that even the true local old-timers had never seen them run enough to lift the ground like that. He said we'd have an awfully wet winter. :D

Another farmer at Scotts Creek said it was 1946 since the flood waters were that high on that farm.

Hi guys, I made it to my mums ok, bit of water laying around but in all in all not a bad trip.

Tez, how was the fun day today? Did I miss much, did you stay for the meeting?

Did everyone survive all the water with no damage.

Hey Tlc...Glad you guys had a goodish trip to Gippsland. I was abit worried about you driving through all this weather.

Sorry to say that we didn't go today. Just didn't seem worth the drive with all the water around and more today. The training oval would have been underwater I think! 'Fun day' would have turned into 'flood day'.

I did get two walks in with the dogs...got nicely wet both times but it beats feeling guilty about not walking them. Jane can really turn on the sad eyes when she wants to plus she has perfected the art of sighing loudly!

How is Bronson's ?hotspot?

Well I think your probably right about the Fun day. The weather up here has been good, little rain today but apart from that quite pleasant! The dogs are exhausted each night as they are on the go all day.

Bronsons head is slowly getting better, I stopes using the apex cream as every time I put it on it seemed to be irritating him and he scratched the top off it. He is still on the pred for another couple of days and only has one more day of ABs to go.

But I tell you I don't know if the tablets are making him feel a bit off color or if he has just grown up over night as he has been a different dog since we left home, it's quite bizarre, he is not annoying then other dogs excessively like he usually does, I didn't bring his crate and thought he'd bee sleeping on my head every night but he has been very good and slept on his bed on the floor next to Cooper all night only gettting up with me in the early hours which is great.

And he seems so much calmer than usual. Time will tell I guess Ill see if it all keeps up once we are home. It could be a combo of everything, being away from home, the tablets, being exhausted?

Sounds Like there is still a bit of water around, Sean kept the paper from yesterday for me to see all about the flooding. I'm assuming everyone else is all good after all the water either that or they have floated away!!

Ha ha tlc,

I thought for awhile that we "were" going to float away, the back porch was under water as it was pouring in through the roof :provoke: we had 2 tree's come down across the driveway but the Landlord came over and cut them up.

I mowed some of the front lawn just before the rain and now you wouldnt know it the bloody grass is growing faster than i can mow it lol...

Good new's on the car front, Callaghans rang and said the ECU was repairable so they repaired it and the car is running beautiful....the bad new's is they said they wont release it to me until its paid in full...not the deal we made at the start  the total bill is $1200 , where do they think im going to get that up front ??? im sick of these shysters :(

hope everyone is snuggled up warm inside, its still bloody freezing outside.

Linda......

Oh Linda what a bugger about your car! Wont the ones who done the damage have to pay?? See if you can work out some sort of payment plan with them.

Its cold and wet and windy here today too, I jinxed my self in my last post!

Mum and I just found a poor little bird wandering outside pecking in the grass, so we bought him inside and have him in a basket, we gave him some seed. We need to find out what he is and what to feed him then have to figure out what to do with him.

Anyone have any clues pics here.... http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2382...mp;l=8a19863572

Hi Tlc...Had a look at your bird...looks like a native pigeon to me. Mum and dad have alot around their place in Melbourne. Some people call them Squeeky Pigeons because when they take off flying their wings squeek! If it is a native, then I think vets are compelled to look after them but I could be wrong. If not then maybe an animal shelter. Good luck with him..he's very pretty!

Sounds like Bronson is growing up! Might be time to think about a new 'baby' :)

Poor you Tenties...the car and now trees and water! Apparently Mt Emu Creek is now a river!

We have put an add in the local shop window, so hopefully someone will claim the little fella. We have since found out he is a crested pigeon. He has eaten some seed and is cozy and warm for the night, hope someone will answer the add in the window as he seems very tame and maybe hand rared.

Are you sure he's even someones pet? If it's a native pigeon it may just be a wild bird.

Glad you're having a good break away tlc. Hope the weather's better there than here, although it's not too bad today.

I was in Melbourne yesterday and it rained all day!

Hope Bronsons head is ok!

I will catch up on all the posts later.... I've been pretty busy of late. Got a couple of Vizslas here for rehoming so that always keeps me busy too.

Tenties... you are having some bad luck of late!!! Hope things sort themselves out. Hope you are buying Tatts tickets for your car! :)

Still not sure about birdie, he is so tame that's the main reason we think he may have been a pet. He's good this morning eating seed and quite active, think he must have been starving. Just waiti g for a wildlife carer to ring us back to see if we can take him to her. Mum would love to keep him but she has a cat and thinks it would be a constant battle. The weather is ok here today but was bloody awful yesterday.

Thought you must have been busy, haven't heard much from you of late. I'm loving my iPad as I have Internet at mums where as I never have before. Although mum has now got a pc but she doesn't have a lot of data. So I have been able to keep up with my emails forums etc! Plus watch movies tv shows etc when I got to bed at night. It would have to be the best most versatile piece of technology I have ever purchased!

I'll keep my ear put for anyone wanting a viz, how old are they? any other details? Pm me if you want to.

Went to check out Aldi and the guys said next week, so I am assuming Aldis specials go from week to week, must look to see when thier week starts as i do NOT want to have to go to that place unnessisarily, I can't stand shopping there it drives me insane. But anyway I had a look at the catalouge and the covers look great, and I would think no something they would sell a lot of quickly.

Can't believe I get home yesterday and the weather is nearly as bad as when I left, anyone up for a walk sometime tomorow? Maybe Albert park or TP, mine are all overdue for a bath so I don't care where we go.
