 funny Bruno, mine all look shaggy at the moment cause the other day when I went to the beach I took them to the dog wash on the way home, so they didnt get dryed with the blow dryer cause it was hot so they drip dryed which makes thier coats shaggy and curly,

Hey JJ would be getting excited about now only 2 more sleeps till he meets his new bubba, hope he gets his pc back soon!!

Hi All! :crossfingers: Yep...JJ IS getting excited now. Chan goes in at 7am Friday and will go under the knife at 8:30am.

Will post here as soon as I get back with news....

Sorry to all wanting to get on with show training, but not much I can do without my PC and only got it back today.

I will have a read of recent posts and see what suits everyone and set a date and time to start.

Obviously no day or time is going to suit everyone but will do my best....

SHOW TRAINING.

OK, sorry for the delay with this but without my PC I couldn't do much.

I have decided that weekends are no good. Those that DO show would find this difficult as shows are on the w/ends.

Those I have spoken too are happy with a mid-week session but unfortunately that wont suit Cavalblaze who has young children. There is no way we are going to keep everyone happy I'm afraid. Hopefully Cavalblaze is able to make it to some of the sessions.

So far there will be myself, Tenties I believe, RJ is still interested, Pandii to look & learn, TLC wishes to join us and take some pics, we have a GSD from Portland wishing to join in, possibly Donna with her young Vizsla and maybe her friend with a Boxer. And of course Cavalblaze too if she can make it. There may be others who read this thread (who don't post) who are interested too. They can email me at [email protected] and let me know.

Assuming then that Wednesdays at 7:00pm are the go for summer months, when does everyone wish to begin? I would rather give Wed the 20th a miss as Chantel will still be in hospital, but would like a session in before the Warrnambool shows on the 30th & 31st, so how about the 27th?

No, not just show dogs, anyone who wants to socialise their dog in a controlled environment welcome.

Just be aware - show training may interfere with peoples obedience training, ie; automatic sits need to be discouraged in show training.

Nothing you need to bring besides appropriate collar/lead - whatever you would show your dogs on.

Pandii you can borrow one of my retired girls if you like

Yep - Harris St Reserve is the best location I think.

Sorry JJ have to correct you on something lol...... anyone who is doing or has done obedience with their dog and who comes to training to socialise their dog/dogs can do a simple obedience exercise instead of having their dog /dogs do what show dogs do .....eg.... if they are having a problem with the dog moving when being approached then that is what the trainer would get said person to do , stand the dog while the trainer approaches and goes over the dog.

It is not fair to ask obedience people to only do the show stuff just because we are , doing their own thing does not take any longer than a show individual........ :(

Sorry JJ dont mean to rock the boat i know you would support this as well you just have BABIES on the brain at the moment lol

Im gonna throw a spanner in the works now and just say that if im the only one that comes along that isnt showing, then I dont want to upset the apple cart by being the odd one out so Im happy just to observe and take photos. I guess if it is all about show training, and Im the only one not doing it but I do bring a dog along then it is only fair to fit in with everybody else. I know what your saying Tenties and I totally get that but I will probly be the odd one out. If the purpose of these training sessions is going to be show training as well as general obedience, then Ill happily join in and take a few snaps along the way, (dont worry Pandii, you know I only shoot dogs :o) (oh thats sounds aweful :)) Is one of the things youll be practicing stand for examination?? Cause all mine need work with this one, they are all about class one standard but thats about it, we dont do it enough! Anyway what ever goes Im happy with or happy just to come and observe and take pics!!

Actually I need some practise with this as well, Darcy is doing Novice at the trial in March and it's something we haven't done enough of lately with people she doesn't know. Friends don't count! :o Anyone who could call a heel sequence for me would be awesome, I can give whoever a sequence if you need it but it's pretty simple.

tez is it you I've seen up the showgrounds a few times? :) I've got the two black dogs.

HI Jess, how you been?

I like 2, gives them more room to play and flop in them

Good thanks Pandii - yourself? Might finally get around to catching up with you one of these days - not training at club at the moment, having my Sundays back to myself means I have just a bit more weekend time up my sleeve :o
