Hey TLC. Yes it has been a long time, dont get into town much, with raising calves and milking.

As for my fur kids, I still have Poppy, but Zak died last year and I lost Aami last Monday, one month short of 17. I inherited Poppy's brother off my Nana so I still have 2. Will be a while before I get another one.

As for the light globes, I dont have any off the old ones left and you cant get them any more. I will call into JJ's shop tomorrow as I had a look on his website and get a globe then. Currently she is in the lounge room in a dog crate, to cold tonight for them if they hatch.

You do some great pictures, been watching them on facebook.

I agree re the swimming, my guys have a much better time at Kilarney!

The leash free all year round is to the right of the Ritchies point car park, ( turn right before the bridge) I've been there heaps and never seen another dog Leash free all the way to the flume then regular leash laws apply from the flume to the breakwater. .

Logan's is leash fee all year round but quite often there is dogs and people there surfers etc, especially when the whales are there.

Thanks for the tip :D Warrnambool amazes me with it's names of places that you have to be a local to know, I had no idea where the flume was. Handy to know it's a quiet beach if I'm ever short on time.

I think they have designated the flume to grannys grave and it runs around to Ritchies point a designated dog off leash as its not deemed fit for swimming surfing etc, although there is still a few surfers that get down there. Not sure if you know but there is a car park at the end of the first caravan park (entrance just down from flagstaff hill) and if you follow the path up to the board walk the flume entrance is right there, only one minutes walk from the car park. I'd love to frequent these beaches more but I have to be having a very good 'back' day as the sand is usually soft. but its great for the dogs to have a good work out!

Not much news in here? Thought I'd pop in to say hey and what's everyone been up to?

I've got a friend staying and a few days off work, yay but on the downside I've got a badly pulled muscle in my back ( rhomboid) and hoping a few days off will help it heal, fingers crossed!

Tanya, how's bubs? Bet she's getting bigger by the day!

Everyone getting sorted for Xmas, it's just around he corner now! :)

 Good luck with that JJ, All I am ever clucky for is another puppy! A freind is getting a puppy soon and I can't wait to get my camera onto him! I've never photographed this particular breed before so much excitment! Don't ask me who it is as I'm not allowed to spill the beans yet as no one else knows. (think this person has rellos on DOL)

Pet stock had 70% off their wag wear dog clothes todaya, so my girls scored 2 new jackets each, (like the need new clothes.) but they are so cool! All terrain jackets that I wanted to get them earlier on but they were too exxy, but at $15 each who was I to say no! I always say they have a better wardrobe than me!!

Good that your busy JJ, We are finding the BGS getting busier by the day.

Isn't he gorgeous! Look at the bloody size of him at 8 weeks though, eeek!!!

Can I get some more info on the obedience school you've mentioned, I presume it's in Warrnambool?. I'm on the look out for a less formal puppy school where I can do some socialisation but also some training/distractions work with a baby puppy in super short stints. I have a fair bit of leeway at BDOC for agility but whether I'll get that same benefit in PPS is another question so I'm open to ideas. :)

Tanya I havent even started my Xmas shopping yet! How exciting Milahs first Christmas!

Jess, The facebook page is HERE the training/obedeince school is a very casual affair. Laura (owner of the GD) is running the classes, she has trained and is qualified from the NDTF, she wanted people to have a place to go to get advice with issues and also run a general obedience type of thing for anyone that wants to join in. We have done a few different things apart from obedience such as one day did a street walk and last weekend we did part of the board walk, which was great, we have a couple of puppies int he group and it was good to see them out and about and being good dogs in the wake of skate boarders, bikers, pushers etc, its a busy place down there so it was great socialisation for the dogs.

At the moment there is no cost, she is thinking about adding a charge next year, it will be minimal but she wants some of the money to be donated to Dogs for kids with Disabilities HERE as Katie who runs the program is completely non profit and they need funds to keep the program going. Laura is passionate about dogs and loves to help people who need it. I'm sure she would be open to you joining in on any level or capacity that you want.

We have some dog aggressive dogs in the class and everyone is mindful of the ones who are not happy being close to other dogs, there is no off leash and all dogs are under control at all times. Most of the people who have joined in so far are very new to dog obedience and have started from scratch, others have been to either of the other clubs on occasion and left for whatever reason. Some just want to socialize and keep up to scratch with good K9 behaviour.

I on occasion help with obedience routines and ideas for different things and also take photos for the facebook page. There is a few regulars now that come each week and some weeks we only had a couple of people others there might be more. Check out the page and the photos and you will get an idea of numbers.

Now did I hear you mention baby puppy?? Did we miss something?? You have a new baby??

So exctied thnking you might have a new puppy, I forgot to add, your original question about leeway with PPS, all the ones I have been to are super structured and mostly the instructors treat you like an idiot who has never owned a dog before. I took Lacy to brierly but wanted her to go to a second class so we went to the vets and the instructor berated me for taking her to a outdoor class before she was vaccinated and just generally treated me like an idiot. But towards the end of the classes we had to do demos and of course who was the top of the class. So the instructor said she could see Lacy benefited from earlier socialisation and training.

I also went back when Bronson was a baby (although I don't know why I bothered, he slept through most of it) I went for socialisation with him more than anything else to give him time away from the other 3.

Thanks tlc, that sounds really good, it would be perfect for what I'm after :D

No puppy just yet, I'm getting a working line BC (ANKC registered) but he's not due home until December :D I'm just thinking ahead, I was a bit too casual with Zee's socialisation and I'm keen to continue the awesome start this little boy will have had when I bring him home. I'm absolutely not interested in mainstream PPS and I'd rather not do the puppy free for all that seems to be the done thing these days. I wish my friend was closer, she does some really good puppy classes but 2 hours is a long drive for PPS. :o

Edited to add: Thanks to someone helpful in the BC thread I've been gawking on gumtree looking for a cheap second hand crate. I'm after a PP40 if anyone happens to have one for sale or knows of a good place to get them cheap. Maybe I should've taken advantage of the PGD sale while it was on :o

Edited by Jess.

Oh well that's great a little brother for the girlies, they will love him. I definaltey think 'sit stay' would suit and if not then you haven't lost anything really, apart from a drive to get here. you will like Laura, she is really down to earth and very cruisey. Shannon also goes when she can so there's another familiar face.
