tlc
JJ I know exactly what you mean about those nights. I think you should write an official letter, pm me if you want the organizers name and say exactly what you said here, the tokens would be a great idea too. In the past I have worked on these nights as the official photographer, and easter bunny photos but this time they decided that there would be too many people and it would be too hard, so official Easter bunny family/kids photos (free) are being taken on Saturday between 11 and 1. These nights have actually taken on a life of thier own, no other Bunnings in the state gets number like we do. But I seriously think that it brings a lot ( don't mean you guys) of freeloaders out for all the free stuff. They are great nights and the kids love them but like you said the adults behavior leaves a lot to be desired! The left over rubbish we find in the shelves for days after, same with sausages from weekend barbecues, some people are just pigs!! Anyway I couldn't have went last night even if I wanted to as I'm laid up nursing a hole in my head from a tooth extraction, I wasn't to bad yesterday but today I feel like I've been hit by a truck! Oh poor you! Hope you are on some good pain killers at least! You are right about the freeloaders.... that's how I felt just being their, with the behaviour of many people there. We wont go again. I feel like a prick complaining, as it is a FREE night after all, but I think with some better planning (like keeping the "essential" bookings, essential) it could be a really successful evening. Chan was just saying she saw adults walking around with armfuls of food because it's 'free', then putting it down and just walking away from it! What a waste of food and waste of Bunnings' efforts and money. I am surprised Bunnings bother with nights like this after what I saw. Have I missed something? What's wrong with your fella, chatabox? Hope all's well! I too, would love to know what Vet you are referring to...
tlc
http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=218437&hl= http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=218736 Threads about chatters boy above. I think you should still write a letter, Bunnings love feedback and it doesn't have to be all negative, like you said it could be a great night and feedback like yours can only make it better, you could also add things like you are a regular out there and how much good they do, cause let's face it they do so much good stuff for the community, fundraising for floods, the fires etc etc the list goes on too much to mention. But you could just add in what you think could/would make it better. With your articulate writing style, I'm sure they would take notice!! As for painkillers, none of the good stuff for me I'm allergic :D Worst luck! Edited April 15, 2011 by tlc
tlc
Hey Jj, I had a quick word to one of my bosses today and told them some of your feed back from Tursday night and they said they would love to hear any ideas and any feed back you have to offer, they just want to make it work so that everyone gets the full benifit of the night. Lots of people were saying today how badly some of the people behaved where the food was concerned. People even putting food in thier bags and going back for seconds. It is meant to be supper not tea! Some just take advantage. There was $1600 spent on just food alone, thats a lot of food!

It is meant to be supper not tea! Some just take advantage. There was $1600 spent on just food alone, thats a lot of food! Yep I will write a letter if you think they would appreciate it. I was there again today and got chatting to the bouncy castle operator. He was talking about Thursday night too, and said an estimated 350 kids passed through the bouncy castle on that night, of an estimated 600 kids present! So approximately 250 kids completely missed out. Apparently Bunnings considered hiring a second castle, but by the time they realized they would need it, it was too late. $1600? Gosh that's a lot of food. I also heard today of people putting pizza in their bags and then rejoining the queue...... just awful. Again, I think that if they keep it strictly bookings essential, as their literature stated, it would have been such a great night and a real credit to Bunnings and their staff. Having people turned away at the door for not having a booking would create a reputation for these community nights too! Didn't see you there today tlc.... we rocked up at about 1:30. I have been hit by the gardening bug at home this week. You'd think I would be completely 'over it' after gardening all day every day at work! tlc
I was there from 8 till 1.15 so I just missed you! They will definatley appreciate the feed back good and bad, it all helps to make it better. Apparently someone else had mentioned tokens of some sort, so if you mention it too they may take it on board. Chatta still hasn't been back, hope her boys going ok after his little op! jerojath
Following on from a discussion on Facebook regarding the lack of good pizzas in our two-bit town, has anyone here tried the pizzas from Alex' in Koroit? I have heard they are by far the best pizzas in the district, but everyone likes different things in a pizza! Who's tried them? What did you think? jerojath
We've been out to Flagstaff Hill this morning, as part of their Holiday Kids Program they had a "Pets On Parade" morning. Visitors were encouraged to bring their pets along and talk about them etc and there were prizes for Best Trick, Best Behaved, Most Unique pet etc. Shannon was there so of course Mawson won the best tricks category . There was a talk on some basic preventative care for pets by a local Veterinarian and Shannon gave an interesting talk on the importance of the RSPCA in our local community, then changed hats and informed us about her work in Wildlife Rescue and foster care. There were calves, a pony, day-old chicks, a rabbit as well as every-bodies family pets. Unfortunately the morning was quite poorly attended which is a shame as it was a great concept which would be more successful for a larger group of people and their pets. Hopefully if it is organized again for next year it will be better supported.
tlc
I didn't even know it was on till Shan txt me early this morning and told me about it, I would have went but I was very unprapared. Shan and I caught up for a quick walk at AP this arvo which was great, my lot havent been out much this week (due to me and my dam teeth) so they enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air, then we went to the dog was and it was full of people, had to wait in line and had people waiting after us. The guy was there again cleaning the floors and generally tidying up which is good to see. There was a couple there who had a puppy BC and he was not happy about having a bath, the lady commented how well behaved mine were in the tub and procedded to pop her arm over the wall to give Cooper a pat, which is fine and he is all good but how did she know that he wasn't a nasty dog who might bite?? Especially in a situation like that! Common sense is really not that common!
chataboxboxers
Hi All, Sorry for not updating you all, Tyson had surgery to remove a lump that has been growing around one of his top canine teeth and down alongside two of his molars. He had a section of it removed on thursday, and it has been sent off for biospy, hopefully have the results tomorrow or Wednesday. The new vet, Lava Street, said she has never seen anything like it before. First inspection she thought it was an ossifying epulis, but during removal, she is now completely puzzled. May have to go back to have more removed, she also said its left a "socket-like" dent in his jaw bone. Its been growing so long it has pushed his molars inwards which has made things more difficult. We're hoping its benign. The old vet is Warrnambool Vet clinic. Very disappointed with them not doing anything about it, but the thing that really got to me with them, was one of their vets was unbelieveably rude. Thats why i changed, and then Lava Street told me the lump needed to come out ASAP. He's recovering fine, was happy to come home to a brand new, giant, stuffed rabbit and some pain killers, of course!! Hoping he wont need anymore surgery, but we'll take the news as it comes.. Thanks for thinking of us.
tlc
Fingers crossed for Tyson making a full recovery! We use Wollaston vets and I have found them to be quite ok, we used to go to Lava Street and always found them good but when we shifted closer to Mortlake road we changed vets, I guess that's weird but at the time our dog (when we only had one) only never went to the vet for yearly vaccs so it was no big deal to move I also have a phobia about living a long way away from the vet, weird I know and more so now that we have 6 animals. Anyway sounds like you did the right thing in getting a second opinion, your not the first person I've heard say they have not been happy with Wbool clinic, I have had an issue with them too involving my oldest dog but won't discuss that here. jerojath
Glad to hear your boy is recovering well, chatabox. Let's hope the biopsy returns good news! :D Here's a quick pic of the family at Flagstaff Hill Pets Day. Chan could NOT get Tarni to face the camera as she could see me off in the distance :p If you look closely you can see Jess has one of her Bearded Dragons (Clyde) and Jacob has his young Spotted Python around his neck. One of them was awarded "Most Unusual Pet" but can't remember which one! ;) (Not much competition though! ) Edited April 18, 2011 by jerojath

chataboxboxers
Morning All, Tyson's biopsy results were good, the lump in his mouth was an Odontogenic Cyst. It is benign and all previous study on them, though vary few studies have been done, have shown no evidence of recurrence. He will have to go back to have the remainder of the cyst removed, but prognosis is great!! : )
