We've lost a few over the last few months. One got a cold and died while the others were of old age.

The new one is a blotched female we need for future breeding. Hard to find one 'legal'.

Would love to catch up tlc but I am heading to Killarney as we haven't been there for ages. The kids wanna come along too.

Have a nice day all, whatever you do. Looks like it's gonna be another ripper!

How was Kilarney? I went to AP but it was real hot up there and I had a Snakey feeling so I did one lap and left and then went to Brierly.

What's everyone else been up to?

Well Sat night we went camping, and yesterday was a day of gardening... Bruno was hot and bothered and lounged around on the tiles and cold concrete in garage...

I did hear you toot TLC, I was sooooo hot and bothered myself by that time... lol

Killarney was lovely... perfect day for a walk on the beach. :)

It was a 'snakey' day wasn't it?

We went bush walking in the forest near Cobden and came across a number of Tiger Snakes...

one was a big surprise and Chantel spotted him right there amongst the kids!

The kids are very 'snake aware' and don't panic, thank God. I calmly (sort of!) said, "Hey Kids there is a snake right there next to you, so quietly walk straight here to me please!" The kids did exactly that and once they were a safe distance, we were able to enjoy seeing him slither about. He wasn't bothered by us at all! Big bugger though, glad he wasn't in a 'mood'.

Hi Tenties! ;)

They are live-born, any number between three and nine, for this species, and are about the size of your index finger.

Their Mum wont care for them at all, and have been known to eat the babies as she will be starving after she births them and they will be looking mighty tasty to her, running around! Lizards are very sensitive of movement when hungry.... if it moves, it's food!

Usually though, they are so exhausted that the little 'uns have time to clear off.

Still no action here yet. Contractions have stopped and she's gone to sleep!

Bloody hell, ive sat up for horses, dogs , cats , cows and sheep and even chickens/birds, but i dont think i will be staying up for Lizards even though i wanna see the babies but its late now.........and dog only knows when she might decide to have them

I bet she is calling your bluff JJ, whats better ...outside in the rain or nice and cosy inside ???? any wonder she 's gone to sleep

Any babies yet? What happens when she has them then,? Do you take her somewhere different so she can't eat them?

No nothing yet. She has very labored breathing so wouldn't think they are too far away.

She will go straight back outside when she's done. She wont give them a second thought... no maternal instincts with these lizards.
