Im a bit over it at the moment, so many off sick and in my dept there is only a couple of us qualified so if you have to work on your own its a pain, however if this weather keeps up don't think anyone will be painting tomorow!

You would be suprised at the amount of people that were out there shopping first thing this morning. especially in this weather!

UUHHGGGh....this weather is foul. Just home from work in Colac and I just want to stay in and do nothing!!! Too bad no one else is going to clean the house!!!!

Tlc...hopefully the weather will brighten up tomorrow. I'm keen for a walk if you are. Beach or park is fine with me.

I'm about to use a spot on flea treatment for the dogs. I don't do it over winter as its too expensive to waste when there are no fleas anyway. Just wondering how it will go with the two dogs playing. Won't poison them or anything will it??!!!

Hey Tez, it's never hurt my lot, however I usually do it at night before bed so they have all night before each other gets a chance to suck it off

Weather foul here too, I just finished work. Don't even think I'll walk the dogs today. I was going to go down to the end of the bike race to see if I could find Bec (becandcharch) from DOL but I think it would be all over by now.

I hate going to Geelong show and yesterday didnt change my mind, i only went down to pick up the crate from Lou and to see Elsa ( spikes puppy on DOL ) and dropped in to my sisters on the way home ( GSD's )

:) Tully would have loved it, she is like a moth to a flame when it comes to mud!

Well Tez and I braved the elements today, first off to obedience the to AP for a walk, it was cold and rained a bit but we got a good walk in and the dogs have fun, mine were pretty ferrel actually just full of beans today. Currently all munching on a big bone each and soon to go through the bath. Another great dog day!!

What don't you lie about the Geelong show? Someone on my facebook said she went and it was the worst show she has ever been too.

I haven't exhibited at Geelong for years because I hate it so much. There is very little room ringside (or within the whole dog section really!) and as it usually attracts a large entry it is just a shamble.

And this year I'm told, due to this lack of space, all gazebos wre banned for use by exhibitors so if it started to rain you'd have to huddle up with your dogs under a tarp! Shocking! I much prefer 'country' shows to metropolitan shows but I wont do Geelong! :)

ETA. Sorry to answer for Tenties.... just giving my own opinion. :(

Doesnt matter JJ, you put it in a nutshell :D nothing has changed down there its still a shamble of a show

The committee need to look into other grounds or the show wont go on for too much longer, entries are dropping rapidly and this years group 2 entry was pathetic im told.. ( around 30 yesterday ? )

JJ, someone said the total entry yesterday was 450 without counting absentee's :D for a champ show so close to alot of places and within driving distance of alot of showies that number is pathetic i think.

Yes I think that's a dreadful entry considering Geelongs proximity to the states centre, south west and Melbourne.

I have seen larger entries at very small club Ch shows in the middle of nowhere!

I think the committee really must look at a change of venue or they will get a lot less entries next year... people are speaking poorly of this years show on numerous forums. I believe the secretary is claiming a lot of entries "went missing" :D  :D .....

certainly people turned up this weekend to find they weren't entered anyway....

Soooooooo glad I didn't go!

So how did you go anyway Tenties? Pick up a CC?

Hey Tez, those leads are awesome, thanks so much. And you know what I realized that I could use one lead on two dogs, therefore only needing to take two leads to the park, how cool is that!!

Shannon and Mawson went to the biggest dog wash in Melb today, hope she comes in soon and lets us know what it was like! Seen a tiny segment on the news tonight but no sign of Shan and Maws!

Glad you liked the leads Tlc! For anyone interested, Pets direct in warrnambool are selling training leads and collars for $7.50. They are all different brands but all can be changed from long to short lengths. Depending on the lead, some were up to $30 so its a good bargain. Apparently they are discontinuing the lines.

Training was freezing today and Gus was abit of a space-dog but those brave enough to get out in the weather enjoyed it.He certainly loved the run around at the park afterwards with Tlc and her four!

After experiencing it with Jane and now Gus, I'm thinking 9 months is the 'ratbag' phase for pups. Seems like something just switches off for a few months

Bad luck about the Geelong show! Hopefully the powers that be will recognise the problems and improve things.

Well Jane paid me back for not taking her to training today. Stole a whole cooked chook and ate the lot  Fingers crossed it all passes through and the Pet Insurance remains untouched!

Yep...she's a bad, bad girl! Last week I managed to spring her with her head in the fridge. She wasn't all that fussed by me screaming and jumping up and down behind her. She was more miffed about not finding anything good in there to eat so just quietly turned around and walked away! Just happened to be a 'low food' day that day!
