I can ask her what time it starts and finishes each day if you like. I plan on going down on the week-end if she gets through the week O.K. I'd love to be there if she makes it through all the tests... although I'm not sure I can pluck up the courage to fly to NZ (I'm not good on domestic flights let alone NZ or beyond) if she wins a place in the Trans Tasman challenge!

Theresa

Now Theresa, if i can pluck up the courage to get on a plane and fly to America, i think you could fly to NZ ????

Dont forget they serve "Refreshments :D " which help alot to calm the nerves

Jess....I like your idea on flying!!! Just knock me out....Maybe LOTS of valium would do it - like a whole bottle????

Sorry to hear no pass in OB this time. Better luck at Melton. I'll be sending good vibes your way from Winchelsea!!

Tenties....but you're a much braver woman than I. ;) With all that refreshment and my bladder, I'd spend all my time in the loo!!

Puglvr (Jane) went overseas a few months back and suggested i meet up with her in England for Crufts  - As much as I would have loved to, it didn't happen 'cause I'm such a chicken :) :D

tlc, I've not done Rally- O either, so I'm no help. Sounds like great fun though!

Awesome - thanks Theresa. Will be able to take the girls to the beach on the way down and then go for a look. And the valium sounds like an excellent idea. Most drugs knock me for six and nearly all the travel sickness meds send me to sleep, except when I'm flying. I guess the adrenaline takes over :(

Is anyone aware of any maps or at least a more accurate description of where they've baited with 1080 around Killarney and Gormans Lane etc? They quote everything in "local speak" not thinking that some of us have no idea where they are talking about. ;)

Just a warning - snakes are becoming active. One of my farmers told me yesterday they had one on their front lawn sunning itself in that warm patch of weather. Don't blame it really... tempted to take advantage of any sunshine that's available and do the same thing :mad

Not sure about the 1080 this year. The place to contact is Parks Victoria, I'm sure they would email you a map with the areas of concern. Last year it was all the way from Levys to just before the main beach at kilarney. I haven't worried yet this year as I haven't been out there.

Jess we have had snakes since the floods, they are cross and angry and pissed off big time

Mate I'd be shitty too if I got flooded out!! :(

Same farmer was telling me that one of the neighbours was trying to take a pic of an irrigator that was very underwater. Got the shot and went to move and found themselves a little too close to a tiger snake wrapped around the top of a fence post.

Thanks tlc I might pay them a visit sometime this week. I used to go to the mouth of the Hopkins a lot but there is way too much dog park mentality down there. :o

Gorman's Lane is so much quieter and nearly everyone I've come across out there is so much more respectful

Well Theresa, i dont think you would be in the loo all that much, its much worse going to the toilet on there than flying  , i wasnt game enough to even sit on the seat properly just in case i caused a vacuum and it sucked me in :):o thats the sort of noise the loo made :( and you must remember that was my first plane ride :( i kept saying to myself, i have to go i cant miss this chance, i'll never get another one....... and in saying that i spent the whole time looking out the window to make sure the engine hadnt fallen of or caught fire :) ( dont know what i was gunna do if it did  ) if you dont take these opportunities when they arise you may not get another chance.....

Hey JJ what about those of us not on your facebook ???? we would like to see your pics as well ???????? or are you running a elitis club for Warrnambool...ah ha thats your new business is it :)

This is Mac...

post-14146-1285073867_thumb.jpg

This is Antaresia, who arrives by plane on Friday....

post-14146-1285073893_thumb.jpg

I have a very understanding partner allowing snakes living in our bedroom!

This is Bonnie and Clyde (Bonnie pictured...)

post-14146-1285074037_thumb.jpg

Bonnie and Clyde are Red-Phase Central Bearded Dragons and they are my daughters babies (hope she looks

after them coz they are worth a small fortune :( )

We also have Samson & Delilah who are a breeding pair of Eastern Bluetongue lizards, (Samson Pictured)

post-14146-1285073792_thumb.jpg

and we have Brad, Angelina & Jennifer who are 3 Alpine Blotched Bluetongues engaged in a sordid little love-triangle,

and we have a baby Alpine who has almost starved to death and was given to me today to try and 'save', but it's not looking great.

Have my eye on some more snakes but finances are a touch stretched after the Dragons!

They may have to wait a few weeks.

Have another species of lizard due shortly, so long as my import permit is approved...

All up we now have 30 reptiles & amphibians. Feeding time is fun.... cockroaches and crickets everywhere,

boiled eggs stinking the house out, various salad-mix bowls, mice/rats thawing on the bench..... :o
