CB...your little cavs are sweet! If I did have room (which I don't Tlc!!!) I could see little Chanel curled up quite happily between Fat Guts Jane and Gus the Good!

BTW Janes diet has been going well until tonight when she apparently raided the fridge! She can open the fridge door with her nose unless we put a stool in front of it (with all the energy she expends trying to get food she should be skinny!!!) and miss 12 year old got home first and appears to have forgotten to replace the stool. Anyway she snaffled some low fat mince and some shredded cheese. Must of been a smash and grab as there were quite a few things she didn't take!!!!

:o Ah Tez, you know me soooo well!!

Jane is a legend, every story you tell reminds me so much of Marley, from that movie Marley and me.

Ha! You only think its funny because she doesn't live with you!!!

I really could strangle her sometimes...if only I could get my hands around her fat neck!!!! But then she does stuff that makes me go all gooey....the way she plays with Gus is so sweet. She is gentle and kind and sooo patient with him!

I think the guys who trial do their own training, and one trains with BDOC. I think they are all pretty experienced so a general training day might not be their thing, or they may not know about it.

I can understand them doing their own training. I probably wouldn't take the more experienced dogs to a training day either, but it certainly benefits the inexperienced dogs - and its always nice to help other out by laying tracks etc.

I usually take Vegas over to the small bush reserve (opposite the roadhouse) where there's heaps of room for a learner. Because of the small amount of 'doggy & human' traffic it gets, it's ideal for beginners but they still get to experience cross tracks etc.

There's a lady from Bannockburn that works at the Winch bank that wants to learn to track her keplie and the other dogs she has so that's probably where we'll go for their first time. I keep meaning to contact her and work out a day that suits both of us, but just haven't got around to it  That 'motivation' thing again

Not sure who the Inverleigh person is, all I know is she lives near the Cop Shop. Can't be that many people in Inverleigh who track, surely :o

Helen and Tony are the Inverleigh cops - well Tony is, Helen is retired I think  Sounds too much like a coincidence to me! The current president of the TCV is also a cop. He took over from Lyn Klecka. It's surprising how many cops track their dogs

I wouldn't mind learning to track at some point, one day when I'm rich I'm going to follow the warm weather and the better daylight hours. Or just invest a few hundred thousand into a fully equipped heated indoor facility under lights, complete with a heated doggy pool.

I'm sure you would love it! Most tracking people do other stuff in the 'off season'....show/agility/obedience etc..but once tracking season starts, they drop everything and the tracking gear comes out of mothballs! Why not come to TCV Inverleigh trial later in the year

Well if you do invest a few hundred into a fully equipped centre, can you also invest in lots and lots of spare land/bush for the tracking fraternity too :scold::thanks:

Theresa

Hi Guys, I was just speaking to Patricia and she said all are welcome to the tracking day, she doesn't mind if people come and just watch or socialized dogs but she is asking for is a donation of $5 per person to cover the cost of insurance and some money has to be donated to the place where the tracking is to be held. The $5 applies to members of modern dog training as well. There will be tea and coffee available for morning tea. Also if anyone wants to stay for the BBQ afterwards they just need to bring thier own meat and a salad to share.

I was just out at the new Cheap As Chips store (Opposite Barbs' Big Green Shed) and thought I'd let you know it's worth having a look for 'dog stuff'.

They have all the usual "discounty" type stuff like some other stores, but they have a great range. HEAPS of cat scratching thingies for those of you with cats as well as some really great dog beds with zip-off washable covers. ($15-$25).

Barb they also had walking harnesses for $7!!!! Obviously they wouldn't be wonderful, but for anyone wanting a harness just for the tracking workshop it'd be worth a look. Pretty good for kitchen /garden/auto stuff too. My Mrs was impressed by a BIG range of silicone bake-ware which was cheap (as chips).

Geez I could have waited re the harness, oh well in my attempt to make Tully into a girly girl the harness I got will be great for that!! Although Im betting by the end of the tracking day it will be as black as she likes to get. :winner: She is my tom boy girl!!

I found out how packed it was  had a quick look then armed myself with a dog bed, some lollies and a lint roller for my never ending cat hair battle, I headed to the registers and there was lots of long lines of people waiting to be served. I will definatley go back for another look once it quietens down. Lovely big clean shop, with lots of staff, wonder how long that will last??

Oh TLC that bed looks great :)

I will have to go for a look as Boofhead needs another bed as he ATE his last one and the one before that and before that ect youy get the drift lol

Hence why I refuse to pay big money for a dog bed for a distructive creature to eat it  :D

JJ congrats on the impending wedding how exciting :laugh::love: Are you going to let us come for a sticky beak as you and your lovely bride all dressed up????

Tracking sounds great and I reckon the boofulus one would prob enjoy it too (being a hound and all LOL) But I really need to get this house all packed up so I can actually move on the date that we have to be out of here :eek::eek:

And just think in 8 months time I will have the room for you all to come out and do some tracking at the new abode :D :D :D

Hey Linda how you getting alone and what is happening with your car now (arseholes) will have to catch up soon

Ok I best be off have an appointment with the builder so I better get there in time.

Cheers Janet

RJ, the beds were great, that one that Cooper is on was only $15 an opening special, usually $25. They also had other styles even the mat type hession ones that would probly be good for Boof, denser foam and tougher cover they weren't exxy either.

RJ the wedding is in the Gardens so anyone is free to have a squizz. I wont be dressed up though - flanny shirt and pair of stubbies  .

RJ - looking forward to the opening of our new local tracking facility!
