Nice to see dog owner's copping a kicking in the standard again this week

Where is Pandii - haven't seen her post for a while. Hope she is ok?

tlc - it was double dutch to me too when I first started out, particularly since they'd not long changed the rules as well.

Must get his neck/back looked at as he his walk isn't quite right, seems to be a bit stiff and sore up around the shoulder area on the left hand side.

Anyone have the number of a good chiropractor for dogs it would be greatly appreciated. The guy we deal with is no longer about in this area.

Some swear by the greyhound man - I can't remember his name. Ask at the greyhound shop, they will probably know. I took Darcy to him once and yes he fixed her immediate issue but she actually curled her lip at him to tell him to back off. :) Anyone who's met Darcy will know that is a pretty extreme reaction from her and I wasn't comfortable having her see him again given she was so worried about it.

Have since found a lady at Belmont who is fantastic - she's a qualified vet but does accupuncture, massage and manipulation, she is also a chiro. Her name is Dr Kim Lim, google her name and it will come up. She is awesome, and will fit you in if you need her in a hurry. I know it's a bit of a trip from Wbool but she's worth it.

Hi Guys, Im away at the moment, but have access to the net today, so just thought Id jump on and see whats been going on.

The name of the dog chiro in Warrnambool is Gary Parsons, I have had 3 of mine to him and he was good, although Coop had the same reaction as Darcy when he manipulated his hip and apparently it wasnt right and clicked into place and hes been great ever since! But Cooper was less than impressed as he screamed in pain when he did it, so like you Jess I have never gone back. Tanya has used him to and I think she thought he was good as well!!

Jess, As far as i know Pandii is no longer on DOL.

Hope everyone is good and all doggies are going well!!

Can't remember the details specifically but dogs have been banned from the rail trail around the back of Lake Pertobe, Mayor voted against dogs having access to it on lead because they could get loose and attack the bird life or a child *rolls eyes* He was the deciding vote as it was an even split.

There was a few pics of some of the WDTS crew with their dogs saying that they now have to walk around the back of somewhere and rejoin it again later, and that it's the quickest way from Harris St to ???? can't remember. A few letters to the editor/SMSs agreed but then it ended up with someone carrying on about letting dogs off lead and destroying bird life and wild life for the sake of their dog having a run. D*ckheads!! *more rolling eyes*

I agree Jess they are that for sure!! I think it sucks that there is not a lot of places that are safe off leash for dogs, I mean like a dedicated area. Albert park is ok but we have to share it with horses and my lot and horses off lead are not a good combo. I was talking to a friend last night (not a DOLer) and she thinks we (W'bool dog people) should get a petition together to get the council to have/make a dedicated dog place for dog lovers where they can take thier dogs and not worry about wild life and let their dogs off leash without having to worry.

I have had emails from both the Moyne Shire and the WCC and dogs are only allowed on the rail trail on lead and there is a lot of sections where dogs are not allowed at all. All of the rail trail in Koroit no dogs allowed not even on lead.

Dont think it will ever happen that dog lovers in W'bool will have thier own area??

tlc, in recent years more and more councils are waking up and seeing the benefits of dedicated dog friendly areas.

Surely it's only a matter of time here, even for our council!

A prepared petition could certainly get the cogs turning and ideas being nutted out!

Could be a good idea! :cheer:

I can see why they'd be required to be on lead given the stock either side of the rail trail, they know people will let their dogs off and the "no dogs" policy has probably been some sort of agreement with the landowners along the rail trail. Bloody disappointing though.

The rail trail around here is all on lead (that I know of) but it's in such bad condition - big stones, long grass and in one case a huge hole that would've broken a horses leg  (Thankfully someone had shoved a log down it so horseriders could see it). I use the lake for most of my doggy bike work but it's still too snakey at this time of year.

Just got back from a week in NZ for work - how good would it be to not have to worry about snakes  I got the biggest welcoming last night when I walked in the door at 1 am - both dogs and the cat were so excited but I was too stuffed and put them all to bed.

Hi Camnusch :D My contact trainer is going well, not getting much use because I'm still working on lots of contacts foundation at the moment but I've had the dogwalk section sitting on the kitchen floor for a few days here and there :o Zee pesters the sh*t out of me if it's down wanting to do more more more training. Who said it was only kids who have pester power...

Hi Jess!!

Glad you're getting some use out of the contact trainer - even if it is only half of it!! It sounds like Zee has got you exactly where she wants you. ;)

I mated my girl a few weeks back, so not much training going on here until I know if she's in whelp or not! :coffee:

PS...We got onto that fly repellent you suggested.....good stuff. Thanks!

Hi everyone...hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weather today! After a long day at work archieving medical files and doing the bills, Jane, Allie and I high-tailed it down to the lake for a beautiful walk. Blue skies, blue water and NO FLIES...it was bliss! Hey Jess, hope your two girls are tired from all their swimming!

After the walk, Jane had a bit of a swim and then did zoomies in the grass. She managed to trip Allie up with the long line which looked pretty funny and one-one was hurt so all good!

We went on the million paws walk last year but I don't think we will go this year as Jane will most likely plant herself on the footpath and let the other dogs come to her!!!

It was a bit of a weird day here, I knocked off work and took the dogs to the park we went to the other day and there was this mist kind of rolling in but it wasn't cold at all, anyway the doggies got a run so that was good, we didn't go this morning as Cooper had a rough night, he wasn't well but I couldn't figure out what was wrong with him, he just wasn't himself and up and down and in and out most of the night till about 4 this morning, so after not a lot of sleep we had a quite morning then I had to go to work, so I thought Id head out after work and he seems a lot better tonight thank goodness!! And even ate all his tea!!

So no other news yet??
