Oh I so love the curly coated retrievers, I had a couple as I was growing up and they where just the best dogs.

Infact some of my fondest dog memorys comes from the two I had, Buddy and Cobber.

They where so so faithful and great gun dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JJ we are still waiting to hear on the land so I not going to jinx myself and say where lol But i will be in Moyne so I not sure what the dog restrictions are there.

But I am hoping if it all gose throught that we could at least get a permit for one more.

But that is a long way off yet if we even get the land. We have a few pieces of land that we are looking at if this goes pear shaped tho.

But will take forever to sell this and build another house.

Anyway must be gone

Cheers Janet

Oooohhh 7 acres...surely there is room for me and Jane! We will even bring our own chooks who are laying 4 yummy eggs a day. Straight from their fuffy bums to your plate :D

My ring finger looks a treat but is comfortably splinted by being taped to the finger each side. No xray...I'm too tight to spend the money when Tassie beckons in less than 2 weeks.

I rang up about Janes brother today. The girl was abit vague about details but I did find out that he is an unclaimed stray who has been there for a few weeks. We will go and see him with Jane on Saturday arvo. Timing is shocking though. If we do take him, he will have to be desexed so he wouldn't be able to come home until THE DAY I LEAVE FOR TASSIE!!!! The plus side is that he would have the whole Summer hols to settle in as my sister is a school teacher BUT we will take it one step at a time and see how we go on Saturday.

Oh Tez, how exciting, I really hope it works out. Are you going to Tassie on your own? Are you going on the big boat? Your poor finger, I must have sent the pm about the same time as you were posting this post. Hey how sure are you that this dog is Janes Brother? When you go to the RSPCA you might be lucky enough to get Jenny, she knows you so might be able to move things on a bit.

RJ, your 7 acres is slowly filling up with your lot and your new dog :D me and my four ferrels, Jj and the Golden Girls, Tez, Jane and the chooks and Possibly Janes Brother Wayne/shane

Add me and my two in to the 7 acres too......

Hi all, I am still alive! I have just read about 30 pages of updates since I last was online and I am exhausted! Obviously I can't comment an all aspects of the thread but A HUGE GDAY TO EVERYONE!

I am still waiting in Hobart to leave for Antarctica, I might even catch you tez by the time you get down here!!! The runway is still not prepared enough for the airbus to land and there has been bouts of bad weather slowing the progress even more (surprise, surprise, it's Antarctica!). At this stage we are looking at Friday so please cross your fingers for me!

Tez, it sounds like the pup you are looking at is at RSPCA? And it's Jane's brother?? What happened to the GAP greyhound??? Sorry to hear about your finger too, I hope it's getting better soon.

Tlc, thanks for the great pics of the break up day, oh I wish I was there!! That's so great that the SEDA pups all came and hey, you never told me about the temp care of pups!!! I just noticed it as I was going through the thread! Do you reckon Laura would consider me for that? I can keep Migs seperate for short periods? Of course I would have to ask Giorgio too, but I would love to help out in that way!

Hi to everyone else and sorry I have been such a bugger on here. I will try to get on more often once I am stuck indoors down south and keep up with what's going on. I don't need to when I am at home as tlc keeps me up to date on all the goss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great Christmas and new year and please give all of your puppies a big sloppy kiss from me and Maws and Migs

Cheers :)

Hey Shannon, about time you posted, what are you doing to fill in time while you ar ein Tassie?? I will pass onto Laura that you would be interested in temp care, they could always do with people on thier books to do short stints. Cant believe I didnt tell you about Sonic, I think it was the week you were away maybe in QLD?? Anyway hope you get to go soon, it must be dissapointing to get down there only to have to wait.

If anyone with kids or without for that matter is interested on Thurday night Bunnings is having thier annual Christmas Family night, all the usual stuff and more. Im doing the santa photos so I might see some of you about out there. It starts at 6 and goes till 8.

Hey Tez, hows the finger today feeling a little better I hope?

Ann (with Benny) was at work today and she has decided she is definatley going to rehome Benny :-( poor feela hope he finds a nice family, she says she just hasnt got the time for him and she is away a lot and he has started to dig out under the fence.

Wow...so many exciting things ALMOST happening at once but in reality...umm...Oh well!

Nice to hear you are safe and well in tropical Hobart, Maws! You poor thing...must be really frustrating!

TLC...I'm going to Tassie with a close friend whose 2 little kids have to spend xmas in W.A with their father for the first time. She didn't want to spend xmas at home without them and as I haven't had a holiday in about 4 years....well bye bye xmas and hello Tassie...big boat and all. I'm hanging out for adventure, big sleep ins and lots of driving.

We are pretty sure it is Jane's littermate at the R.S.P.C.A. When I saw Jenny at training, the first thing she wanted to know was how old Jane was. She had already made the connection between Jane and the dog at her work. The fact that he is choc also adds up as Jane had 2 choc littermates. So I'm 90% sure. Jane has another littermate in our town...black and male so I should be able to tell for sure if we get a chance to meet him on Saturday. No guarentees though as he may be gone before then. Jenny said that she was tempted herself as he is a nice fella with lots of potiential though he would need alot of training and exercise. Why have one ratbag when you can have two?

Just an update as we went and saw Jane's brother today at the R.S.P.C.A.

He seemed a nice lively young dog and very pretty with shaggy red fur with blond tips and light eyes however he turned out to be very dog aggressive when we got him to meet Jane. He even continued with the aggression after we removed Jane from the yard...snarling, teethbearing and growling. Poor dog had apparently been seized from a place where he was one of many dogs. So sadly he remains at the R.S.P.C.A and will no doubt need to be placed in a home where he is an only dog.

AND THEN WE MET SCOOP...now ours and renamed Eddie! He's a cute black shaggy 2 year old terrier crossed with maybe lab crossed with god knows what! Abit smaller than Jane but not much and a friendly active little fellow who seemed very relaxed and playful with Jane. It was like they had known each other for ages...they played and chased each other, then sniffed around and then both had a bit of a lie down under a shady tree. Very friendly to us as well.

We pick him up from the vets in Warrnambool on Tuesday. He goes to be desexed on Monday but we thought we would wait an extra day to bring him home after his op so he is more able to cope with the 'Jane ' factor and a new family. CAN'T WAIT TIL TUESDAY!

No pics yet as I forgot to take any  !

Hey All!

Tez - sounds great re: Eddie. Hope all works out for you all there.

I'm surprised the RSPCA are willing to rehome a DA dog at all, but then again, with the absolutely stupid things the RSPCA are up to at the moment nothing would surprise me!

I have always been a very good supporter of the RSPCA until now. They have always been our #1 charity but I've wiped my hands of them...... on every level. May as well be giving my money to PETA! :happydance: Anyway, that's another story and didn't mean to go off-topic!

TLC - hope you have a good day tomorrow and the weather holds out for you - anything could happen in Ballarat!!!

Yes the puppies are all growd-up now. The first left us yesterday which brought on plenty of tears :happydance: in our house last night - little Kallista had become a real family favourite.... such a beautiful, sweet girl.

The next leaves us in the morning for a long drive to Sydney and I am off to the airport on Monday with a couple more.

It's been lovely having so much time to spend with them all, and I don't think I've ever gotten this attatched to the pups before.

Probably a long time before we have any more pups, although I have a LOT of people all over Oz requesting we repeat the mating of our "T" litter (Tarni's breeding), of which some are for show-homes and others for the field so I'm in two minds at the moment with that. Might just recover from this lot before I even think about doing it all again! :o

Has been quiet on here lately - think everyone must be busy getting ready for  !!!

Ooohhhh TLC....such beautiful photos of Tully and your MIL...made me abit emotional! MIL looks like she needed some Tully cuddles.

The doggie xmas party sounds like a hoot. I'm sure the awesome Foursome will LOVE it. Can't wait to see those piccies!!!!!

BTW saw an ad in the standard this saturday for rehoming a young beagle...couldn't help thinking it might be Benny

R.S.P.C.A didn't give us much info about Eddie...apparently he was owned by nuff nuffs who constantly left him alone and with no adequate fencing so he was often picked up for roaming. So he was a social, lonely entire dog. Rather than fix the fences, desex him and give him some attention, they decided to leave him at the pound and get another dog

The girl at the R.S.P.C.A said that they often get dogs, either surrendered or seized, from the same nuff nuffs over and over again! I now know why I could never work in an animal shelter...I would need a death squad to eradicate repeat offenders and I'm pretty sure thats just not allowed!

Anyway, Eddie is approximately 2 years old. I don't leave for Tassie til Saturday so I will have a few days to bond with him and the rest of his life to love him when I get back.

BTW Maws, I said a quick hello to Mawson and Mingy while we were there. Hopefully you are on the way to or in Anarticia (sp) by now!

J.J, sad but happy news about your pups...at least you KNOW they are going to good homes though it must tug at the heart strings....Hmmm....waiting for piccies right about now.....waiting...waiting!

R.J, Have you any news about OUR 7 acres yet...you need to let us all know so we can work out where we are all going to live!

JJ, I is not well, and its all your fault

Sounds like you guys had a big night?!!

Tez, You must be super excited about now only 2 more sleeps till you get Eddie, poor fella sounds like he has had a hard road so far, he has certainly fallen on his feet with you and your family to love him, when you get back from Tassie we will have to have a catch up, Id be happy to come to Camperdown for a Sunday afternoon drive. I cant wait to meet him. Sadly yes the add in the paper is more than likely Benny, I hope he finds a home before he has to go to the rspca.

We had our Doggy Xmas Party today in Ballarat and it was great a fab time was had by all!! Here are just a few photos, the rest of them (109:laugh:) are on facebook if anyone wants to have a look!!

Looks like the Chrissy party was great fun!!! Santa looks like at hoot!

We are getting super excited about Eddie coming home...hope the poor boy copes ok as he will be abit sore from having his Jingle Bells cut off.

I would love to catch up after I'm back from Tassie...sounds like a good plan.

Eddie should be starting to really settle in by then although I was reading that it can take 2 months to really see the true dog and for the dog to believe it is truely home.

I'll ring the vet clinic tomorrow to see how the lad is coping. Its abit like a blind date though as we really don't know him yet so I an excited but nervous at the same time!!!

Well the last of my babies left me today on his aeroplane to Perth

I popped in on another breeder on my way home from Tullamarine and nearly came

home with another dog!

This breeder is moving O/S next year and needs to rehome Vitasz (Tarni's Dad) and

offered him to me. I was soooooo tempted to put him in the float and take him home there and then

but thought Chan would KILL me if I went to Melbourne to send the pups on their way and

came home with another dog!! But..... when I told her about it when I got home she said

"why didn't you bring him home????"

He is such a beautiful boy I just love him. He adores our kids and gets on great with all my dogs

(I obviously really like him; he's sired my last two litters!!!).

Just not sure now's the time. I have a few months to decide though, so will give it some thought.

He's only 3yo so plenty of life in him yet. I'd love to take him and start showing him.... he's being wasted!

Hi Guys, just thought Id let you all know that Shannon finally got to Antarctica, I had an email from her this evening with a run down of her first days there, it gave me goose bumps to read her email cause it just radiated how excited she was to be there.

Tanya, I should be able to do a walk and have a catch up on Sunday, did you have somewhere in mind you wanted to go?

Tez, hows Eddie doing??
