jerojath
Thats pretty cute JJ!! How are the little dudes coping in the heat?? They cope well in the heat actually! We have air conditioning but we can't use it coz the poor little mites get cold! They are spending time out in the kennels in a grass run but I can't trust them outside if I need to go out coz they wont seek shade. I worry that they will just lay in the sun and cook! One by one, they are figuring out that they need to head into the shed when they get hot.... stupid puppies! Here is a pic of them today. Auntie Tarni loves them and has gone all maternal on me! tlc
Oh that is too cute!! It looks like she is having a little chat to the pup through the cage. Its just amazing how quick they grow! Did anyone see the story about the sheer waters on the front page of the standard yesterday. I said a while ago that the amount of dead birds at Kilarney was a lot, well we went out there Thursday and Friday and there was just wall to wall dead birds every two foot more dead ones and the ones that were alive were very sick and just waiting to die the poor things, hope they can find out whats killing them. Yesterday arvo I went to the mouth of the river with Bronson, and we had a swim, clearly there is signs everywhere at every entrance to the river and every person down there had thier dogs off lead?? I wonder if people read the signs and if they do are they not worried about fines casue they think it is ridiculous that their dogs have to be on lead?? I just cant work it out. Anyway Bronson had a lovely swim, I reckon he swam about 3/4 of a km, might do his waist line some good I walked beside him and its hard going walking in the water, if I had of been game enough I would have swam but the water is so horrible looking down there I just wasnt game!! Another nice day today, Tez, how did you think Jane went at training? I think she is doing great, she did seem tired today probly all the playing with Maddy!! Have you got any pics of them together? tez
Very cute pics of the pups JJ! Tlc...Yep pretty happy with Jane at training but, boy, do we need practice with on lead heeling!!! So frustrating as she does well when we walk other times!!! Here are some pic of Jane and her friend Maddie who we have been dog sitting for the last week. Nothing like 'tug of war between two friendly dogs...sadly that (was) my bra they distroyed! Damn it! Edited November 16, 2009 by tez
tlc
Great shots Tez, They look like they are having so much fun!! Jane is so going to miss Maddy when she goes home!! edited to add your poor bra Edited November 16, 2009 by tlc
tez
Jane WILL miss Maddie but I think Maddie will miss Jane more...took Jane for a walk this morning (not that she needs the exercise at the moment but I sure do!) and Maddie was quite distressed...crying and panting and couldn't even finish her breakfast...so unlike a normal gutsy G.R! Hopefully her owners will let her come over a few days a week when her mum works with me. As for my bra...silly me for thinking it was safe in the washing basket on top of the bench! Tim & Tanya
hahaha sorry to laugh about your bra Tez I know how you feel... Hey TLC I know what you mean out the long grass at off lead park, you would think they would cut it being hot the last week...
tlc
Went up there last night and the grass has been mowed around the cricket pitch and the oval but not around the walking track, hope they do it soon!!
Tenties
Hi everyone, just popped in to warn everyone that may go to Harris street of the possible danger lurking there. My Mum and i took 4 adults and 2 puppies there today for a run ( we go every second day )my Mum was putting more water in the clam shell and filling the waterbowl for the dogs when Figit ( girl pup ) was taken in by something in the shiny leaf, she was jumping back and forward at it and then we saw a flash of red as it struck out at her and we quickly headed to the gate calling the dogs over as we went , on went the leads and into the car and then i went back to see if it was a snake or not but it was gone we kept talking about it on the way home and are now convinced it was a snake and with the colour we saw on the belly it would have to have been either a red belly black ( which i dont believe we have down here ) or a tiger snake which come in all colours, my guess would be Tiger snake being at Harris st , so beware everyone it has put me off, and i checked everywhere before letting the dogs off as im scared stiff of snakes. Catch up with you all soon. Linda ( Tenties )
jerojath
Hello Linda! where have you been? Bad news about the snake - you'd think your dogs would be safe there.... guess not! My dogs hardly get out during the warmer months as they HATE going out on leash and I just worry about snakes too much everywhere. I've seen heaps of snakes at the river and at Killarney so far this summer and it scares the crap out of me - especially when the girls take off into the bush and don't come immediately they're called... makes my blood run cold! Hope you and the doggies are all well... we've been wondering how your going lately. Did you manage to find another house with more 'understanding' landlords? Catch up soon! Edited to add... Although the Red Bellied Black Snake (Pseudechis Porphyriacus) is not regarded as a dweller of our immediate region, they frequent areas just North, N/East & N/West and in recent times have been widely documented as having slowly migrated South and have (although infrequently) been recorded inhabiting the Coastal regions of South-West Victoria - including Suburban Warrnambool.
