Oh thats so sad, he looked like a beautiful boy!!

Thanks he was beautiful, personality, temperment and looks.

Here are my girls.

Cavalblaze the Blenheim looks lovely. :)

Thanks. Blenheim is Lele.

Black and tan is Velvet, not a overally great photo of her as she really is lovely too. My favourite colour in the breed is Black and tan followed by Tri.

I also co-own a Blenheim, I don't meantion her as my own as she doesn't live with me and I'll be transferring her over next year. Belle is her name she lives with a family friend and is under my mentor.

Oh and this is my mums tri and my brother has a Granny blenheim too which i dont have a photo of. We are a cavalier family, except my sister who has a Golden Retriever!

   Happy birthday Bruno!

Hey J.J...just interested in hearing what you like to breed for in your dogs that isn't necessarily what is expected in the breed in general?!?

Happy Birthday Bruno!

tez - Relating to your question above. It's not quite like that.....

I am breeding for what IS expected in the breed. I try to breed closely to the standard.

What is happening in my breed is that many are too tall, necks are becoming so long they resemble a giraffe, rear angulation is becoming excessive and resemble a weimeraner, and the breed is loosing its soft 'noble' head and expression. This is just my opinion, of course! Everything in our standard calls for 'moderate' while what I am seeing is 'excessive'. I think a true *typical* vizsla is not nearly as 'flashy' as what we see so often today. Some may see them as a little 'boring' even compared to others. I will find some pics of what I consider a typical example of the breed, and one of a dog who does a LOT of winning who (besides the basics such as colour) I believe barely resembles what a vizsla should look like. I think that some of our pioneering vizsla breeders would turn in their graves if they saw what was accepted as a 'good' vizsla today!

I couldn't find a party hat, so since it has been so cold how about a beanie for the birthday boy instead!!
