Riley James
Hey a walk sounds great to me. I need to get out of the house for a bit, getting a bit sick of being cooped up with these 2 sickies :D:( and I am sure either dog will be happy to get out. Let me know where and when and we will be there with bells on :) Cheers Janet Edited August 1, 2009 by Riley James
tez
Glad to hear there is another phycho puppy about...makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and oh so slightly relieved!!! Jane is going well but no off lead adventures mean we are all going abit nuts. She is getting 2 on lead walks aday but we are also steering clear of other dogs until her stitches are out ( 7 days and counting) so poor Jane must think its the end of life as she knows it! On a positive note, she is FINALLY starting to heel okish...I am using the command "looking" and then she falls into step beside me. Then I just keep chatting to her to maintain her attention on me. The only trouble is that when I do reward her with food for heeling, she takes this as a release and starts off ahead of me. Still, I pretty rapt with her progress (definitely has ADHD) and I'm loving the walks with her as its a lovely bonding experience for us both. tlc
Great to hear Jane is improving and she will continue as she gets older and your willing to put the work in so that makes all the difference, Have you been walking Jane since her op? I know with my girls the vet said no walks for a few days to give the inside time to heal? Wish you were in town tomorow to come with us but it wouldnt be much fun for jane if she has to be on lead. When you finally get to come with us Jane is going to love Thunder point. Is everyone ok with thunder point for tomorows walk? If it is absolutley pouring rain I will probly give it a miss but other than that Im there with bells on!! RJ, mine had a ball today as you could very well tell!! and I think little sniffy enjoyed himself too and will only get better as he goes along im sure. Maybe next time we go out well give the whistle a good go with him getting he recalling in one blow and jackpot rewards, what do you reckon, then for those just incase moments when we need him to come asap we will whistle!! tez
Soooo looking forward to Thunder Point with Jane....1 week to go! The vets said to take it easy but didn't say she couldn't be walked so I actually walked her home from the vets (only for blocks) but she had spent the night at the vets so I thought she needed to stretch her legs abit. I did take it very easy and it gave her the opportunity to do numerous small wees after flooding the waiting room...Poor love must have been hanging on like crazy all night.GRRRR! tlc
Oh Poor Jane, you would think they would have taken her out first thing in the morning. We will aim for a walk next weekend then, and may be we can make it after training if that would suit you better. Im sure some of the others can make it then too, if we said around 11.30, well talk about it through the week and hopefully get a few who would like to come along too, the more the merrier!! And hope for good weather!!
