RubyStar
Yep buying the jump cups . Although you could probably buy the jumps too . Any idea where to buy the cups? Why do dogs cost so much money?
ness
Overseas is where we bought ours from. You can make them out of PVC t sections but they are a bugger. Maybe look at making a timber jump. ETA. That jump plan looks ok - they don't have PVC jump cups. You could probably use something like a bracket to rest the jump cup on. http://members.peak.org/~helix/Agility/cheapjump.html http://members.peak.org/~helix/Agility/ - they have two sorts of jumps we have the one with the 2 bars. You can buy the jumpcups at the reticulation shop on the Cnr of Bannister Road and South Street in Canning Vale - they are a bit pricy though. Alternatively you can buy the PVC fittings from Bunnings and cut them in half with a hacksaw.
ness
- good one Ptolomy. Actually if she only wants to make an obedience jump though she would only need 2 cups so it might not be that expensive. We paid $15 each in PVC for our jumps from Bunnings (certainly not the cheapest place) although last time we made 4 jumps for $30 so we think they had it wrong. RubyStar
I actually made some weave poles ages ago (which I never use ) so maybe I could use those and just attach those big clips and just buy a bit of pipe Although, I really wanna make the solid jump! I feel a weekend project coming on!
Natsu chan
I've got a solid jump. The wings are just three pieces of wood screwed together, the middle piece being about half the width of the two outer ones. The boards are just standard withs of pine and they drop down into the grove created by the narrower bit of timber in the wings. Easy to make. Seita
I made timber jumps out of 2x4 bits of wood. Simple upright bar with nails hammered into one side and a base made out of 4 smaller peices of timber fanning out around the bottom of the upright. I just glued and screwed it all together and then bought a length of pvc pipe for the jump bar. It's nothing flash but it works. Oh and I do the same thing as Ness for a solid jump - just hang a towel or sheet over the bar to make it 'appear' solid!! Actually I think might have a photo somewhere I'll go have a look... ETA photo! Finally found it! Ella posing with her new jumps: Edited February 10, 2009 by Seita
