Hi,

Just picked up a brochure on the Skudo. It is suppose to repel ticks and fleas using ultra-sonic impulses. It is inaudible to humans and animals but can be heard by ticks and fleas.

Has anybody used it and what was it like?

To maximise protection, particularly if you live in a tick infested area, Skudo can be used in conjunction with other products. In areas of severe infestation, Skudo cannot be guaranteed to provide 100% protection. Check your animal regularly, regardless of which product you use.

Did you know that...

A human can hear around 20, 000hz, a dog can hear around 27,000 hz and a tick or flea can hear around 40,000hz. Nature is truly amazing! Therefore all of us, as well as pets, cannot hear Skudo Electronic Tick Repeller.

The effect of sound waves do travel through walls, in much the same way you hear a stereo. Naturally, the sound waves diminish with distance and floor to floor if you are considering attaching the device to the pet's bedding.

Paralysis ticks (lxodes holocyclus) are found on the eastern seaboard, from North Queensland to Northern Victoria. In the northern parts of Australia, paralysis ticks may be found all year round, while in the southern areas, the season begins in spring and finishes in late autumn. Paralysis ticks are found on animals that live in or near thick bushland whether native or domestic.

In my opinion if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I have clients who use them and swear by them. Although I do still find the odd flea on some of these dogs I don't find ticks.

I bought one to try, but just couldn't risk a tick slipping through. I don't think I could ever rely solely on a Skudo for ticks.
