JulesP
Is this lady good?
Vickie
Is this lady good? What an odd question. I can't imagine why we would be paying thousands of dollars every year to have her fly over & teach in 3 states if she wasn't. Surely you mean how successful has she been? or is she a good presenter? or what do people feel are her particular strengths? JulesP
errr yes. Don't get your knickers in a knot. Was typing quickly with one hand whilst on a phone call! Would think it was fairly obvious what I was asking.
Vickie
Knickers are nowhere near knotted. Here is her Bio: http://www.contactsportsagility.com/2009se...minarCarter.htm it is a little out of date, since I know of more recent achievements with the young dogs, I will have a look for a more current one. She suits me as a presenter. She has a good sense of humour, I understand what she is teaching, she motivates extremely well & I guess most importantly she gets results. I find her system consistent & easy to apply. What makes her stand out? I think most important to me is that she truly cares. Seems an odd thing to say but it is not something I feel I can apply to a number of presenters I have been to before. Once you are her student, you will always be her student. I also think it would also be fair to say that first & foremost her priority is in Animal behaviour. She is really able to assess an individual dog & work out what makes it tick & how to get the best out of it. JMO
JulesP
Thanks. Do you have any links to anything that she has written? I have googled but can't find anything.
Vickie
sorry I don't. I know Clean Run did an article on her last year but can't remember which issue. I know she has also written for Clean Run, but again, don't have the issues on hand.
leopuppy04
Vickie can you give us a little insight into what her style / training system is like? Who it is similar to or if she is one of her own etc
Vickie
A hard question to answer without going into detail. I would say her style is similar to Linda Mecklenberg, Stacy Peardot, Alicia Calhoun. She has a very different system to Greg Derrett & Susan Garrett. JulesP
Thanks that does help! Susan is my god at the moment.
Vickie
glad I mentioned it then, each to his/her own.
caffy
glad I mentioned it then, each to his/her own. Thanks for bringing Ronda out Vickie. All the hard work behind the scenes is easily forgotten :-) Me, personally, I think it' s a good idea to understand all the handling systems. Each presenter has something that you may pick up on. JulesP
I agree but it just means that I would prefer to go and audit rather than take my dog and risk confusing him/her.
