Epo Vs. Aloveen

I'm currently using Aloveen on Gertie the itchy Shihtzu.

I'm wondering if anyone here has made the switch and found the vet grade EPO a superior product?

Gertie is in the finanical queue to have intradermal (sp?) testing done but we also have to complete our food trial for which we fell off the wagon and have to start again

In the meantime I'm hoping the EPO might give her even the slightest little bit more relief in conjunction with her 2nd attempt of antihistamines.

Thanks in advance.

Evening Primrose Oil.

As far as I know, Aloveen has a higher colloidal suspension than Episoothe so apparently more soothing out of the two. I've definitely found Aloveen to work better than Episoothe.

Personally having used both and having a dog that reacted badly to Aloveen and Episoothe i would switch to Groomers EPO vet shampoo any day.

As long as you follow the instructions in regards to washing and drying most people have had good results. Linda at Groomers is an awesome person to talk to and discuss your current issues and what she thinks will help in the long run.

Where-as I on the other hand have a bitch that had an allergic reaction (hives) from the EPO and prefer the aloveen for her. I can use the epo on all my other dogs with no problem though. All you can do is give it a try.

Our little guy has Atopy and I have been using Aloveen, but I'm not sure if it has helped stop the itchys (he does smell good though  ).

I have been thinking of trying EPO instead, but the dermatologist may want him on something else (taking him back next week). Does anyone know where I can get some to try on Brisbane's southside?

Aloveen gets a bad reaction in our house, I blieve it's the Oats?

Have you looked into the Eqyss Itchy Range? We're using them at the moment for a dog with bad allergies and are happy with them and have been able to drop the Cortisone dose.

We use the Itch Shampoo, Spray (when required), Coat Rebuilder as a 5 minute leave in then rince out after the weekly itch shampoo as the moment as we have a pretty bad coat.
