Her Majesty Dogmad
Someone I know is having quite a few probs with their rescue dog. They are first time dog owners and much of it is down to their inexperience which they understand. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a behaviouralist that does home visits. I recently heard about an excellent one on the central coast but I don't know if they can/will drive that far. Anyone know of someone? Danois
Hey! Give Jules & Trudi at doglogic (www.doglogic.com.au) a call. They are Inner West and travel all over Sydney. Highly recommend them
Kavik
DogLogic are Delta trained, so it depends on what type of methods they would like to use I am in the area, but not sure what behaviourists are around here.

Kavik
I am pretty sure they don't use all manner of training methods, having talked to them several times Being Delta, they use Delta methods (pretty sure they have to?). Not saying they are bad, just what approach they will take. Up to the individual what they want to use. They are not knowledgeable on using drive. Nathan is great
luvsdogs
I think it would depend on what problems the dog has. Strong methods could make it worse.
Kavik
Nathan is not all about 'strong' methods. He was helpful with Diesel and Diesel is not a 'strong' or driven dog. Good to know what the problem is and how they would prefer to deal with it. Delta is fine for some stuff but not so helpful with others. Depends on the dog and owner. PAX
I attended a seminar by Peta Clark and just loved her and her solutions to problem dogs. http://www.animaltrainingsolutions.com.au/...about%20me.html
luvsdogs
I've only heard Peta give a short talk, but she's a very interesting, knowledgeable & humorous speaker. Edited January 22, 2009 by luvsdogs
Her Majesty Dogmad
Some of the problems are fear of men and boys, over-attachment to the lady of the house and demonstrated protective behaviour when anyone else comes near. He is also very fearful of being on the lead and will only walk if mum is there. The whole idea of this dog was to be the teenage boy's companion (he is a really nice kid) but this is not working at all and yet the dog showed none of this behaviour when he first met the family. I have given them some links to websites that help with these type of problems but they haven't looked at them. I really think it calls for a visit. If they selected Nathan then, as a male, he'd certainly get a demonstration of some of the behaviour.
MonElite
Nathan is great with the dogs and certainly will be able to help. My girl didn't like man at some stage, he was a great help with my training. She not only loves him now but she isnt afraid of man and will let strangers examine her and pet her. Colliewood
Delta is fine for some stuff but not so helpful with others. Depends on the dog and owner. Kavik and others, Could you give m some examples of what you mean by the above? I am curious as I am getting into training this year and the more info, knowledge etc on methods the better.
