APBT Posted March 18, 2009 Share Posted March 18, 2009 WHEN you are issued with an NOI you say you dog is a cross breed not pure, then you go onto a BREED id, but like i sed there is no body in NSW for APBT's so it is automatically declared a cross breed therefore you go get a temperament test done. and if you dog passes it lives any any other normal dog would. il even quote my previous post for PPS where you tried to prove me wrong, now your saying the exact same thing. Sydking DONT hide your dog as that will only make it worse, socialise it and treat it as part of the family, let it meet other dogs from when it is a pup( after vaccinations ofcourse). Good people on this forum have shown you how to follow the rules and what steps to take. Now for everyone else, we have all shown our points of view and at the end it turns out we are saying the same things in different words. Lets just hope responsible owners FOLLOW THE LAW( we all agreed on that) and the BSL will be removed and the APBT image will be changed. OzPit Posted March 27, 2009 Share Posted March 27, 2009 Alrit so i just want to understand one thing....since people like Poodlefan care soo much about the dogs....u should know that the typical BYB for pitbulls still exists and it is an ongoing dilemna....now lets say SYDKING wants to be a responsible owner and work hard on raising a well trained and social pitbull, wouldnt that be better than if the dog goes to the wrong person and make our problems with BSL even bigger? i mean the dogs ARE there and there is nothing you or any one else do about it....so why dont u try to give sydking some good advice and help him be responsible and raise his puppy the right way instead of jumping down his throat. I believe that positive advice and help will go alot further than bringing up thing which are not significant such as Sydking's age? i mean if he was 18 or 100 wats the difference? the dog is there i would rather see the pup be raised properly with everyone's help(if needed) than whinge and complain about pitbullls as a breed. Lets just hope that sydking acts responsibly and sets a great example for the breed through his puppy and hope it is in good hands..at the end of the day we all care about the welfare and treatment of our dogs whether it be a poodle or a pitbull or anything else...DONT LET THE MEDIA BRAIN WASH U....thanx every1:) Ha. Let's say sydking's idea of responsible dog ownership (without delving into responsible, law-abiding APBT ownership) involves buying a buckskin/liver pup (because it's a rednose, and they're the best breed of pit bull, didn't you know? ) without anywhere to keep it, asking for advice (and then refusing to accept it) and wondering, can he crate train the pup using a milk crate? Yeh the dogs are here, that's no reason to support every neville nobody who buys one. Perhaps visit some global APBT forums and see the idiocy sydking is espousing there - and then, come back and defend him armed with that failsafe ammunition. Don't try to claim that anybody in this subforum is being brainwashed by the media...everybody here has a good effing clue what they're talking about. Read the CAA, it's all there in black and white, what you can and can't do and who is authorised to breed assess and temp test in NSW .It's pretty simple and there's a DLG circular regarding the attempts to circumvent the legislation by going direct to temp test. As a result of such attempts, there are no TT's conducted as part of the due process, unless the dog in question has been breed assessed by an person authorised under the act and has been found to be of a RB cross. do you even own an American pitbull terrier? PPS has way more BB experience than you could accumulate in a lifetime, I'd say. Just because someone's not declaring ownership left right and centre doesnt mean they don't know what they're talking about. That aside, I'd argue that even if PPS had never owned an APBT he/she has more knowledge and common sense wrt the breed than many idiots who DO own one. i thought you posted that you owned papered amstaffs, (sorry if im mistaken)so do you comply with the restricted breed laws? or have yours passed the tests? Papered ASTs don't have to pass any tests, they're safe from BSL at the moment...?? Refer to my previous comment for more information.
