Obedience Trials

He is getting much better....I've been inventing games to play with him...games that involve him waiting in the one spot, or following me around (in the heel position), coming back to me when I call him, shadowing me while I move in different directions.

Hopefully, once we get back into formal training, I'll have his focus at a better level than it's been at.

I find that this is the best. To the dog it is a game nt training that is long repetitive and boring. It can be more fun for the person too, keeps both of you thinking of what next. :) The game I really like is where I ask my girl to heal (return) to get bicci's helps to keep it as a completly seperate exersize from anything obedience.

That being said I really should do more of it.

I stewarded at an obedience trial in Vic last year, at my own club. They didn't ask for volunteers who were members of VCA, just volunteers! There was absolutely no mention of being a member of anything.

Same here, I've stewarded twice so far and haven't been asked if I'm a member of CAWA, and wasn't asked if I was either when I volunteered for the Western Classic.
