Blackford
Hello All, I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. My Border Collie (Casper, whos 11 this year) did his cruciate ligiment a few months ago. He is therefore unable to walk very far. The major issue is his weight, he was on an exercise regime before this injury and is now obviously unable to continue in the same capacity as before. I have spoken to the only vet I know in Adelaide that has a pool (not sure if you can mention names here, hes at Glenside...) but I am really after somewhere else if possible. I know about all the places in Victoria that you can go to, surely there must be more options here in Adelaide?? I have searched everywhere I can think of to no avail. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Yeah the 2 mentioned are the only dog pools I know of in SA. Quite afew years ago I was told there is a horse pool at Globe Derby and that at certain times and days it can be used for dogs. I was told lots of greyhounds go there. Not sure what it is called, where you would look it up or if it even still exists. Sorry. Maybe you could try ringing Globe Derby or Harness Racing SA. Blackford
Thankyou very very much!! I knew that place in Edithburgh was a kennel and that they had a pool but didnt realise it was also for public use! It would be perfect except it is an hour and a half away Wow, I didnt even think of the horse pool, duh! I have horses and my uncle lives next door and uses the pool all the time! Thanks for that!!! It would be perfect except it is an hour and a half away It's not just free for the public to use whenever they feel like it as such, you have to ring and book a time The first time (or first couple times) the people there help you and your pooch until you both get used to it, then after that you can just go it alone, but still need to book. They provide doggy life jackets too if your pooch needs one (Mine did - wasn't a strong or confident swimmer)
ness
I take mine to the one at Glenside Vet Clinic once or twice a week. My older girl loves going and my youngster just comes to watch - can't get her in at this stage.
