JulesP
Better put a couple of plugs in for Victoria. I've been buying meat from Mount Evelyn pet supplies (top of York Road) and Lilydale pet supplies (next to Horseland). Both sell a variety of mince/chopped meat for under $4 a kilo. Both say that they don't add preservatives. Mount Evelyn have mixes with veggies, garlic added.

anniek
If you want cheap human grade (not much more expensive than pet grade) Food Works at Parkmore are great. They have a fantastic selection of pork bones, ribs and tails, huge chunks of stewing steak - 2kg for $11, whole ox tongues, hearts etc. Edited May 14, 2011 by anniek

Tilly
Just called into Lotsa Pet Food in Woodridge ... and they are gone ... the telephone number is even coming back as disconnnected Thankfully ... I just looked up Canine Country website and found that Park Ridge Produce (Mt Lindsay Hwy, Park Ridge) stocks it. I was just there this morning and should have had a good look round. The guys in this place are really nice and can't do enough to help you. They order in Canidae for me. Edited June 25, 2011 by Tilly
Miss Monster
Yeah Lotsa pet food closed down a couple of weeks ago. I rocked up and she was dismantling the shop! I had no idea. I need to ring around to get prices of the other places that sell the canine country stuff

Tilly
Produce store at Browns Plains sells Canine Country. I brought out their freezer last week. They didn't have the range of varieties on hand but are happy to order for you. They make sure to get Canidae in for me on a regular basis. The guys are extremely helpful

Tilly
Any ideas where to get Chicken Feet from? ... I have called Lenard's Chicken (well they sell everything other bit of the chook so why not the feet) - but so far it is a no-go. Waiting to hear back from Lenards at Brookside as it has been suggested their supplier may be able to get some. Any suggestions? Looking for 6 to 10kg at a time ... Tilly
Lenards Chicken at Brookside can order 18kg of feet for me ... but they are frozen which means partial defrosting and refreezing - which I just don't like doing. Any other ideas?
Kiara&Heidi
In NSW there is also a reall good one called the Fresh Meat Store. http://www.justfood4dogs.com.au/ is the website, it all gets delivered and is really cheap. There are other meats available not listed on the website e.g. I always order sheep hearts and sometimes rabbit - you just have to ask. Highly reccomended The Petbarn stores also have some frozen stuff like roo tails, chicken and lamb offcuts. It is reasonably priced and some is even organic. I saw heaps of chicken feet at a poultry shop run by Asians at Preston Market, in Melbourne. I know you're not in Melbourne, but if there is a market with a meat and poultry section, that'd be worth a try.
cazxxz
Psarakos in Thornbury has really cheap chicken frames and necks (can't remember exact price, but frames might be about $1/kg). The liver and other offal is the cheapest I've found - $4/kg. Fish shop next door has salmon heads for $1 (they are at least twice that everywhere else I've found them). EA Salce on High St, Thornbury, has frozen kangaroo tails (and I think bones) for $4/kg. Pet Maniacs on High St, Thornbury, has frozen Big Dog BARF, which I think is just under $30 for 3 kg. Also has 1 kg containers of BARF made by one of the shop owners for I think $7/kg. Preston Market has been hot and cold for me. I got pig trotters for $0.60 each, which is great, but I don't always go at the best time for other bones. I saw a poultry shop with a big box of chicken bones for $4 - I will ask what's in it next time I see it (they were closing last time).
SparkyTansy
Unless I am reading the packet requirements wrong, vets all natural doesn't seem very cost effective for larger breeds...
