Kirislin
I had a crappy day photographywise, even crappier than my usual efforts. First, this little water planty thing I've had for about 18 months decided to flower for the first time, so I took a pic of it. then while I was at work I was thinking about how I could've taken it better, by getting lower and including a bit of foreground, so I decided I'd take another shot when I got home. But when I got home it was all shrivelled up and DEAD!!! I suppose I should've taken a pic of that too. Anyway at work I've decided I can become a spy because I was watching these young blokes talking together in the park. They had no idea they were being photographed and I was surprised that when I zoomed right in on my computer I can easily read their number plate. And these dipsticks, I hate it when they do this. It wrecks the gravel and sometimes they even do it on the ovals. wish I'd managed to get their number plate. Ooopss, I meant to say these are yesterdays, not todays Edited January 17, 2009 by Kirislin

montall
So I was feeling a bit blah about it all this morning, taking pics in the yard - nothing very inspirational happening... So I just had a bit of a lie down under the clothesline Ha Ha, I thought I was looking at birds at first. Talking about birds, love the Willy Wagtail. And the lab's soulful eyes. I like the way the camera picked up the deep black of the coat too. I'm making up for lost time today. I have five of them. All are just as they came except for being cropped, some quite a lot. First up a couple (or three ) of practice macro shots. Yellow flowers, don't know what they are called. Salvinia (ok, I know it's a weed) in my fish pond. Heavily cropped I was trying for a water lily, but I liked the way the water sort of rolls. And an artificial plant in a big terracotta pot. I liked the contrast of colours and the shadow. Now two of today's adventure. My OH nearly killed himself on the ride on mower. He lost steering and almost ended up in the river. Shot #1 is where it ended up. We tried to pull it back up by wrapping a rope around a tree with me taking the weight while he yanked on it. Nup, wasn't going to work like that. So the old block and tackle had to come to the rescue. Edited to add one more I almost forgot about. If the mower had ended up in the river it would have had lots of friends. This is one of the reasons why the Bremer River gets an 'F'. Ok off for a nanny nap now. That's enough excitement for one day. huga
lovely photo PPS.What do you guys use to edit your photos (ie making them sepia/BW partial colouring etc)? I lost photoshop when my computer was overrun by zombies. So I just downloaded Photoscape - it was free and I find it really easy to use. It doesn't have the same amount of bells and whistles as PS has though...

Sunday 11th Sunset from the plane as we leave Brisbane Monday 12th Field in Nadi. It was underwater just a few hours earlier and flooded again three days later. A break in the rain gave us this amazing sunset Tuesday 13th This is Benny the Crab hunting dog. She is part Doberman, part Fijian mutt and amazing to watch. I have a video of her that I need to load to youtube. Fijian floor show at The Outrigger Resort Wednesday 14th Worst day of all in Fiji. A cyclone was meant to hit on this day but it was downgraded to a depression. Ashanali
Thursday 15th A few for this day... it's a bit of a story. This is the rail bridge in Sigatoka town. Trains no longer use the bridge, instead the locals use it as a footbridge. The 'crime scene tape' did little to stop people from walking out to look at the destruction. There are still huge amounts of debris building up behind the bridge. then this sunset back at Bedarra Beach... then...
