Great photos everyone.

OK, I am joining, better late than never LOL. I have hardly taken a photo for 12 months so it is about time to pull my finger out. I have dragged out my little old camera which I will probably use for most of the challenge as it fits into a bag, a point and shoot, a Pentax Optio 750Z, I am even changing to a slightly bigger handbag for the challenge :3monkeys: . This camera does have one feature that is special, a swivel screen so you can even sit the camera on the ground and point up with the screen swivelled around so you can see what you are taking, it is priceless.

Here is my photo from yesterday - wanted to add Smorgies (a local landmark) in the photo as a place reference. I had the camera just above the ground looking upwards.

and a photo taken 11 Jan before I officially entered the challenge

Bindi Boo

Jag- that sky is a gorgeous color, is that natural or PS? either way, very nice.

Thank you. It is all natural, straight off the camera yesterday. Not even a crop  I was in a bad mood so a pic was the last thing on my mind. Funny how it really refelcted my mood now I look at it. A small glimmer of hope and brightness in an other wise dark place. (Renovating the ensuite and EVERYTHING is going wrong) Another story, another time.

PM cute boofhead

PPS that is a lovey pic :3monkeys: the clarity and subtle hint of shaddow at the bottom. Noice. How did you do the frame please? Is it a preset one on PS?

Helen- no fair. Your kids always look great in pics. Fabulous shots of them as always. Really like the aspect int he first pic.

Jayc - yep laughing at your second pic too. Very raunchy in a sublte way. Naughty tree.

Ripley that is an amazing capture. Very detailed

Those Nemo pics made me laugh - especially the waving one. What a smart little fishy. Pleased you still have him as he looks like a real character.

Keep up the great work peoples.

Lea the light in the horse pic is fab. The pic of your brother is nice to, very natural capture. I like his tat...... I am a bit partial to a man with tattoos (not covered in fantasy art though  )

Ripely the pic with the purple sky is really nice.

TerraNik love the rolling pin pic, very nice. You make your own pasta.

CM I like the lamp light shadowing the ears.

Jag answer to your question is "light room". I love this program. I work my images in both PS and light room. I would recommend you download a free trial and try it. :3monkeys:

Huga nice paw shot, great detail.

Bindi~Boo I love nemo, what a cutie.

Popsicle the trunk is sooooooo cute, I love elephants.

Helen lovely pic's of your dogs.

PPS nice rose, great detail.

Thank you all for nice comments on my sis. Believe me I have to nag and nag her to help me and she complains. But she is a great subject to work with.

LOL not always... It's super easy though and tastes so much nicer!

Here are mine from yesterday. Poor Jedi is having a tough time after his surgery so I haven't had time to take many photos.

Meatball dish made with my fresh pasta from the day before

Jedi looking embarrassed in his boxers (tried this as an alternative to an e-collar. He hasn't attempted to lick/scratch, so he's nekkid now!)

Aw, the look on Jedi there.

Ripley what do you feed the loris? What is nectar, I know they would naturally get it from flowers but what is the commercial nectar
kirsilin, it's proper lorikeet nectar just bought from Woolies. It's about $8.00 a packet and will last a few weeks. Bread and sugar is bad for them. So that baby I photographed was raised on it - of course, they supplement what I give them with bottlebrush, grevilia etc and I'm sure our relationship is not totally monogamous with their parents either - there are other soft touches in the neighbourhood I'm sure! I've called their parents, Bold and Bashful and Bold will come and sit on my arm, the male is more timid. I feed them every morning. If I don't, they will fly to the bathroom where I'm showering and call to me, tapping on the window. My Alexandrine parrot, Lewis, hates them and lets me know when they are around :(

No idea what to shoot today.

Helen, your photography is always inspiring.

Great shots so far today, everyone.

Today's. Picked this Gardenia from our garden and placed it on a black mousepad. Natural light through a window indoors.

Quick b/w conversion by using greyscale mode and slight curves adjustment. Should have used a tripod but couldn't be bothered - photo taken as soon as I got home from work and hadn't even got changed :( .

Sigma 17-70 f/7.1, ISO 400

My sleepy pony Pagan. She is such a calm unflappable girl, she comes around the house, stepping around the furniture, drinks from the water gardens, eats from the bird feeder and then goes to sleep outside my kitchen door, and I mean literally outside the door. Not much bothers this girl.

I feel a Sally Field moment coming on. Yep, I think it's a great idea of ashanali's and hope she is ok over there and shares some piccies with us when she returns. It will be a shame when January is over. Anyone else, join in. It's not too late.

kirsilin, your horsie looks like he's taken a slurp of something in the bird feeder and it wasn't food.

Dags,

Any way back to business, i am not happy with the quality of today's photos, i was in a bit of a rush because i had to stand on the side of a very busy road in long grass (terrified of snakes) to get these shots. i do love the cows cooling off.
