montall
Wow bindi-boo that grasshopper picture is amazing, so sharp and clear. I like the reflection in the entertainment doors as well, I would never have guessed that's what it was. I thought the black and white version was a sort of negative effect. The red looks other worldly. The horse looks like it's saying "what the" at whatever it is on him. The bed looks comfortable but there's no room for you with all those cushions. And a dog that won't stand still. I can relate to that. Mine are hard to catch a good shot of too. If they aren't moving around, they're napping and that's pretty boring. My camera hardly ever comes off auto and the auto focus takes so long to set that half the time when I am trying for something alive (like my birds) I end up with nothing in the picture but the background. ;) These two obliged by sitting perfectly still. A couple of kookaburras on my neighbours fence. The fluffy one is a baby. And another from my jungle. A bromeliad flower.
Bow Wow
Great shots Montall, I can never get close enough to birds, they just do not co-operate with me. thanks for the comments on the grasshopper, and the bed ;) I have a bit of a fascination with bed linen. Umm bear with me here, I am still very much learning Photoshop. I clicked on the image button, then adjustment, then gradient map. I then clicked on the black and white, pressed ok and this made the picture black and white. Went to history brush and spent eons just going over the grasshopper til, I was satisfied. Clicked save as, and opened photobucket and edited it in there. Used the blur, played around with it, then clicked on borders and used the vignette ( i think ) and played with that, till I was happy. these do it much the same way, but use desaturate instead. goodluck it is very addictive. http://digital-photography-school.com/mono...op-cs2-tutorial
WreckitWhippet
Jag, I had to sit and wait this morning for it to blow out of the valley, I couldn't see anything ten minutes before I took those. If I had the time to wait I would have had a better sunrise out of it but alas I had to run
Bow Wow
PeiLuvR_ I know I can not get over how freaky insects are close up. Warley that landscape is gorgeous, you could never get sick of that view.
WreckitWhippet
We live between Orange and Bathurst in NSW. That hill has a local park and look out on it. It over looks the valley and is good for sunrises, no good for sunsets though

We are sunset positioned so miss those nice crisp shots first thing. Not to worry I will sit back and enjoy your starts to the day You can see my endings Thanks for the info BB. I will have a play later today shhhh don't tell the boss though..
Ashanali
PPS - next time you have a fog like that hanging around when it is still mostly dark, try making the apeture as small as possible so around (F22 - 32 depening on your lens), drop the iso as low as it will go (iso 100 or 200 depending on your camera) and set your camera on a tripod or something sturdy so it can do a long exposure. The mist will start to look more like smokey water the longer you can get your exposure.

TerraNik
My favourite photo so far... I'm going to try this again later tonight when my OH is home with a spare hand! That way I can focus on the photo taking rather than the bursting! And my Fluff photo...
Kirislin
Hahaha, what a beauty Terranik! I am having similar trouble inasmuch as I need an extra hand. It's hot, I was lying on the bed eating a Heaven icecream, as you do in the heat and Penny was waiting expectantly for her share. This was the best I could do under the circumstances, you get the idea.
JAG
TerraNik awesome pics With the first one is it a baloon that you have burst (I know stupid question) just you cant see the skin - that's all. Such clarity in the fluff shot. I guess it makes a difference with you have several colours in the face as opposed to just black. Black poodles are very tricky to photograph... Kirislin - where's mine? Love the movement of the tongue Edited January 28, 2009 by JAG
