Mincer/grinder For Chicken Wings Necks Etc ?

I pay 80 cents per kilo for whole carcasses and 88 cents per kilo for nicely ground chicken. I wouldn't dream of grinding it myself. It's not worth 8 cents a kilo. Very messy process. A good grinder will expensive. A cheap one will be a pain in the neck.

Due to a throat condition, my Koolie Hope can only eat her bones minced or ground.

It's much cheaper to just buy pre ground food than it is to buy a grinder.

I buy minced chicken frames/necks from Lenards for 80c pkg, (but have also seen it for sale at several butchers too) and also sometimes buy the 'bone dust' collected from a butcher's bone saw for around 50c pkg, so she can get some bone variety (beef, lamb & pork bone). This is usually really dense though, so can only be fed a few tsps per meal.

ok thanks to you both for the info... have taken note and will keep belting the wings and necks with a hammer LOL

I do get minced chicken with bone in but was intending to also mince up the wings and necks along with any beef or lamb that i can get my hands on.

cheers

Tried mincing stuff with a heavy duty mincer once and it was feral. Stuff going everywhere. The only thing that worked was the chicken bones, no way that even lamb bones were going to be minced. Butchers wont even do lamb bones.

Probably much easier to buy the minced chicken carcusses like the previous people have mentioned. That will give your dogs plenty of bone. You could then add minced lamb/beef/pork/kangaroo etc to the minced chicken carcusses.

My Lenards sells 1kg for $1 but the butcher is 80c for the 1kg.
