chezzyr
LOL - Millie is gorgeous  For a little dog she doesn't look like a little dog if you know what I mean. Especially like the 3rd shot.
Ripley
She's my little pound mutt. Got her out of Renbury over 6 years back. I don't know what she has in her, chezzyr - maybe some tibbie? But she is very gentle, quiet and great with birds. Especially like the 3rd shot Milile is thinking, "please leave me alone" Edited March 4, 2009 by Ripley

Kirislin
Ripley those photos are hilarious, and well done Ruger with the caption, it's perfect. I reckon you could turn that into a funny card. Edited March 5, 2009 by Kirislin
Kirislin
I took these pics of a friends beautiful cats, brother and sister moggies from the pound. I stuffed up the settings on the camera, it was while I was escaping the bushfires and I was tired and not thinking too clearly, wish I'd done a better job, would've been a great chance for some lovely pics. Oh well these are the best, not too clear. Hopefully next time I will put a bit more thought into them. this is the boy, Rascal with his lovely green eyes and his sister Cheeky with her stunning blue eyes

rugerfly
Its a magic Nikon thing its the bomb and takes out shadows on your photos. you can apply it whilst playing back your images on the screen. http://www.flickr.com/photos/samfeinstein/tags/dlighting/ have a look at these, (not mine)
Ripley
I've heard of that, ruger. So does it work if you are shooting, say, a landscape scene at dawn and if you expose for the foreground, the sky isn't "blown out" - is that how it works? I use a grad filter in those conditions with my Canon. Does it hold more detail in the sky or something? ETA: Found a link here about it with a before and after pic: http://chsvimg.nikon.com/products/imaging/...-quality-image/ Edited March 5, 2009 by Ripley

rocco
I have been spending some time learning this 50mm inside out. It is a nice lens, but I do find the DOF a tad tricky with dogs noses and trying not to blur everything past the nose. I need to learn to use my feet more. Pretty happy with these two today. rugerfly
Yep those two are good rocco. It is tricky isnt it. You will find the further away the background the more room you have to fit the whole dogs head in focus front on

Kirislin
This is Portia, she comes into my friends shop once a week for a BBB, that's bath, brush and blow dry. She's a shy little thing but still loves coming in. She spends most of the day there and just sleeps on the grooming table. Isn't she a pretty girl. and Ratty the whippet. She's not mine but she's related to some of mine.
