Thanks for the tips Kirislin! :) Def going to take a while getting used to the camera and trying to change the settings etc rather than always leaving it on auto too. How do you get the action shots?!? Some of them on here, esp the greyhounds, are sooo super clear! I was so excited to see the lens can do that - but alas, mine are still blurry :(

Here are a few more I have taken today.

Just keep practicing and taking note of the settings you have on the ones you like. It will start making sense after a while.

As to getting action pics you just need to have a reasonably fast shutter speed, say, no less than 1/500th I suppose.

LML - like others have said, try focusing on the eyes :) You would really benefit from getting the camera off auto, it's deciding everything for you, which isn't ideal - especially with the flash going off. Try taking some photos outside in nice light (not direct sun). Then you will be able to have the s/s fast enough.

I had the 50mm on again this weekend. I seem to go through phases of barely using it and then using it heaps.

Hi Miss LeiLani,

I'm pretty new to photography... but I first went to the AV and the TV settings before going to full manual settings. The AV is an aperture priority mode in which you set the aperture and the camera sets the other aspects of exposure like shutter speed and ISO. Tv is where you set the shutter speed and the camera decides the other stuff. THese are good setting to learn about the differences aperture and shutter speed make to your photos.

So I would go from Auto to one of those settings :)

I'm getting lots of white pictures :( All a part of learning

what one are you playing with (I mean the aperture or shutter speed)?

yeah sorry different cameras will call those settings different names :)
