ruthless
I was certain there were no other dogs around and I know her recall is 100% with the collar, so it wasn't that big of a deal. She's been trailing the long line for the last few sessions, but I find she won't go far enough away for me to work on her recall [velcro dog!], so that's why I unclipped it. We're still a long way from working off lead around other dogs!

She does seem very bonded to you, so I shouldve guessed.
ruthless
Velcro dog is something that can happen with e-collar training. They learn that beside you/near you is a good place to be. Someone else feel free to explain it properly

Someone else feel free to explain it properly AFAIK it occurs because the dog receives the stim when its away from you (Sit at a distance/recall) so it temporarily learns that being close to you is safe, and no zappys come. BrunoBella
The first thing I taught Bella and Bruno without the lead was to stay ahead of me (where I could see them) and not too far forward. I used voice commands first then a stim if they didn't listen. This has been very usefull and they always stay in my line of vision now
