Hi,

i noticed this morning that my pup has started doing green poos, i have been changing her kibble over from supercoat to royal canin puppy giant, could this be the reason and if so does anyone think that it is the change of diet and will go back to normal or should i try another kibble? :(

any suggestions would be great.

Green poo is not normal ! check with vet to be on safe side & DO NOT keep changing diet ,this will definatley cause upset tummy.

Yr breeder should have given you these instructions & a feed chart. :(

my breeder was feeding her supercoat and so was i until recently when i was informed of puppy large breed and changed her diet. no i did not get a feed chart.

Hi again ,go back to super coat, if you change any diet ,do it gradually like 2third 1third if u follow me in this case i would return to super coat<& stick with it gradually introducing other foods, such as a little mince or vegies, but reducing the amout of kibble acordingly .

try giving yr pup a dessert sp of yogurt with aphidoficus in it ,mixed with her kibble for a few days to firm up (if poos r runny ) & settle the tummy .good luck

Green poo is often a sign of dehydration. Make sure you soke the kibble as dry kibble can absorb moisture. You may have heard of people having big nites and there poo being green, this is due to the dehydration caused by alchohol consumption.

Has she had one of those "Greenies" toothbrush-shaped treat things? You can get them at the vets. Never given them to my own dogs but have heard from several people that they result in green poos. Just a thought?

thank you i never thought of that she did have one 2 nites ago, i hope that was it.

Well to be honest, if her poos go back to normal, I would think the Greenie treat would have been the culprit :) If not, by all means get her to a vet if you're still concerned.
