hehe.....took camera to the beach and ummmmm, it got a tiny bit wet and now things aren't working. The screen won't come on, and I can't switch modes.

It's a 30D.

Should I just send it back to Canon? Is it totally dead?

How much was 'a tiny bit'.....?

Did you let it dry and leave battery compartment open as well to dry (without battery).

If all nice and dry try different battery - if same problem um not good .

I did get the 10D a little wet but that was rain water and was wiped as soon as it was possible to get undercover. The 40D apparently has some sort of weather seal but still gets wiped and dried ifout in rain. Salt water would be worse though

One splash, I didn't think it was much and it wasn't hugely wet...

Gotta let it rest overnight, heh.

It turns on etc and takes photos, but no screen and no buttons..

Still not working this morning....but I don't have a spare battery so I guess I'll go to a ted's maybe on saturday and see if I can check if it's working, hehe.

Maybe it's a sign I need a NEW ONE?

Nope.

I'll ask camera shop if it's worth/possible trying to fix it.

What's weird is that my 350D once fell IN the water, and was perfectly fine - the 30D

gets a splash and dies?

Not sure what I'd get now if I had to buy another, I'm out of the loop.
