Just Midol
Amandas show line Malinois are different from the working line, she just puts them all on the same page Ahh, didn't see that. I only had a quick look and saw the working ones and was thinking "wtf... that makes no sense" :D

gsdog2
Just when you think everything's on track someone has to throw a spanner in the works. While talking to another GSD owner yesterday I happened to mention I was getting a new pup. When I told this person who the breeder is their face just dropped :D (like there was no disguising it). When I asked what was wrong this person refused to elaborate. When I pointed out that obviously there was a problem, this person refused to say anymore. Prior to this conversation I have had only positive feedback - so where am I supposed to go with this now Edited December 10, 2008 by gsdog2

gsdog2
The politics in the GSD world is insane. Yeah I know, but this person isn't even a breeder. It's just disappointing when you think you've got everything sorted and someone says that! It keeps playing in the back of my mind and I'm wondering what the problem is. Nekhbet
nothing. Just some idiot with their knickers in a twist over something probably petty and stupid. Dont let it get to you, if you are comfortable with the dog and breeder then tell everyone else to 'jog on' *raspberry* See now you have to get a Malinois

Nekhbet
really they are few and far between people barely know what your dog is let alone have a whinge about it seriously dont worry about people. Remember the empty cart is the one that makes the most noise :D

Remember the empty cart is the one that makes the most noise :D Thanks for that - my family are saying the same thing. I'll have to focus on the training and socialising I'll do with her when she comes home ( brings a to my face just thinking about it)
Kavik
The important thing is that you are happy with the breeder The Malinois people I have talked to have not bagged each other out. They have also been very helpful and informative. The Dutch Shepherd people on the other hand helpful about the breed but not nice to each other - especially considering there are only a couple in the whole country, you would think they would cooperate instead of bagging the other one

To me this is also about obedience people as the shepherd owners I've spoken to are all in obedience, and I've always found obedience people to be very supportive and always encouraging. That's one of the reasons I like the sport so much and also why I was taken aback by this persons reaction. If she felt there was going to be a problem (which obviously she did) why not warn me before I pick up my new pup
Nekhbet
dutch shepherds are a whole separate thing, and yup people can become snooty towards each other. Eh just avoid the dipsticks. seriously dont dwell on it, if they didnt mention it then it was something stupid or petty.
