Teaching "drop"

Well today "Phoebe" (avatar girl) and the older of the two Collies did her Drops from the Stand position with the food reward .I made such a fuss of her.i don't care at this stage that the drop was not straight- she did it!

Gayle - Phoebe does the most gracious drop inside too, not on command but she plonks herself on the lino and does Frogs legs at the rear

Her daughter "Gracie" is cottoning on too and we are now doing most things for the food but Drop is still "not clikcing" but hey it is only 4 days since her first introduction into the world of obedience plus she is a Dominant bitch- far more than her mother Phoebe. She is going to be the one to 'test' me. We did manage to get one drop in so heaps of praise and some nice treats.

They are both getting so excited now when I say 'let's go Work' that it is a race as to who wants to train first so I am rapt that they are very enthusiastic(sp?) as for Collies that can be one of the hardest things to get" enjoyment and willingness to work"

Good training this morning so they are now rewarded by coming inside with the air con on and they can have their "nanna naps"
