Urination While Sleeping

Just after some thoughts - I took my 8 year old desexed female BC to the chiro last Thursday afternoon. She had adjustments made to her lower lumbar region.

Friday morning after our usual walk she was sleeping in the kitchen and woke up in a pool of water. She was rather stiff in her hind end (well compared with normal).

Same thing happened again at an obedience trial last night. I had put her through one open round and then put her back in her crate in between her next round and she again woke up having weed her crate.

She has been a bit flat for the past week but I just thought it was because she was sore. She worked a lovely obedience round last night - probably the best she has ever worked.

Took her and her sister to the beach for a good run and she ran hard so I don't think she feels unwell.

She doesn't seem to have a problem when she goes to bed overnight and its just been on these two occasions.

I am trying to work out whether its just coincidental that its started after she has been to the chiro or whether he has somehow caused it when he adjusted her.

Any body had any experience or got any ideas? Obviously I didn't ring yesterday as I wasn't sure what it was but after 2 incidents I would be looking for a cause. Just not sure if I ring the chiro back or ring and make a vet appointment tomorrow or both.

I know laffi - starting to regret having taken her to the chiro now. I just don't know it that could have caused it but its a bit to coincidental to not consider the idea. She was at the chiro 4pm Thursday afternoon and she had problems Friday around 11am.

Puggy - nope at this stage its just been the twice. Once Fri morning. Once Sat evening. She otherwise seems fine. I did speak to a vet on Sat night and she said it depended on whether it continued. At the moment I have decided to hold off taking her unless she does it again. She sleeps inside over night etc and there have been no more instances as yet and I would know about it as she sleeps in my room. She hasn't increased the amount she is drinking any and when she goes outside she goes normally. She doesn't appear to be going any more frequently then she would in the past. Completely confused and the only thing I can think that was different about the week was that she went to the chiro.

Mmm strange. Could be pain that caused her to do it. Maybe things were inflamed, her stiffness fit swith this, so things went haywire. And when the inflamation decreased things have gone back to normal.

If it was a UTI I would think it would be more consistent.

Yeah that is my thought if it was a UTI it would have been more consistent. No trouble today and she went to the pool for her usual Mon arvo swimming session and was happy and certainly I would have thought if she were in pain in anyway then she wouldn't have been keen to swim as much as she did. Oh well I will keep an eye on her and if it happens again take her to the vet.
