Shmoo normally clips my dogs for me in summer, I just need a set at home to clip Toppy's bum fluff throughout the year. Top has no tail and so no leverage when pooing - so we have to keep his bum fluff at bay. Just wondering if these clippers would be ok for trimming every so often? poodlefan Posted November 3, 2008 Share Posted November 3, 2008 (edited) You can't change the blade.. which means it's hard to sharpen or replace. I'd not bother. Jed's singing the praises of some $100 clippers at the top of page 4 in this thread. They'd be a better bet. Add a 10# blade for spaniel bum fluff and away you go! On the other hand, I have a set of Moser Arco which were highly recommended by American Cocker people in the USA and I hate those as well. My best purchase and I loved them so much I purchased a second set are as Jed recommends, the Lazor RX cordless. I use them on my dogs AND my horses and they haven't missed a beat.
