Brian_Newcastle
Came home today and noticed the dog dried off the remains (mainly cooked bones) of a hot chicken from the supermarket out of the bin. Whenever she's manged to get her paws on a cooked bone previously, she has spewed it up, she has ingested a lot of cooked chicken bones this time and I am concerned for her. Any recommendations what I should do?
Golden Rules
I had a vet staying with me last Xmas - and she fed her roast chicken bones from lunch to my dogs every day (unbeknowns to me as I was at work) - dogs were fine anyway. Cooked chicken bones are a risk, not an instant illness. Just keep an eye on her. Any odd behaviour, off to the vet.
Garden Girl
My dog did that a month or so ago - but the chicken was a few days old so must have been disgusting - no issues with the bones (or the foil bag it was wrapped in!!) but he had a really noisy squirty tummy for a few days afterwards - ended up taking him to the vet - fasted him for a day, rice etc etc and he was fine.
