Is Sentinel Spectrum Safer Then Spot On Treatments? Please Help!

Recommended Posts

I've recently decided to stop giving my little boy those nasty spot-on chemical flea treatments after reading about the posion and chemicals in them. I am still worming him and will need to give him a monthly heartworm tablet, however I was wondering if using Sentinal Spectrum will be safer as it seems to cover everything, including fleas.

My boy doesn't have fleas, it's more of a preventative method more than anything else. What do you think? Is sentinal a safer option or is it the same sort of stuff as spot-ons? If that's the case I'll just get him a monthly Interceptor tablet for his heartworm and try and deal with fleas in a more organic way.

Thanks!

Hi reality_22

We give TD sentinal spectrum and the vet says it is good as a wormer and heartwormer. Unfortunately, we found it doesn't do any good with fleas as the poor dog has to be bitten for the flea to be affected.

One of my friends uses Neem soap on her Jack Russell who always seems to attract them. I think she gets it from health stores.

good luck with it
