Garden Girl
Hi - I have a Border Terrier (2 actually but the girl is brand new) and need my boy hand stripped. I have been doing it myself by hand or with a stripping knife but have trouble with his legs and he wont sit still for me to clip his legs. With summer coming up - this will bew the first summer I've had him - I have decided to get him professionhally stripped rather than me doing a bit every weekend. Anyway I dont mind if his legs are clipped but I definately want the majority of his coat hand stripped (or with a stripping knife, I'm not sure what groomers usually do). I dont know anyone else who owns a BT so dont have any recommendations for a groomer in Perth, I live in Greenwood but dont mind travelling a little for a good groom. Any help appreciated. Thanks J
~*Shell*~
You could try calling your local groomers and see which ones actually do hand strip - many groomers around my area (i live in sydney - but used to live in perth, in greenwood too actually ) simply won't hand strip because it is very time consuming. Good luck with your search!
Dogsfevr
We hand strip within reason. You have to realize though depending on the coat it wont be done in one go & wont be cheap & you will still need to work on the coat weekly anyway to maintain it. Depending on the nifes you use also depends on the results. Having said that we are booked out for 8 weeks & i truly dont now many groomers that hand strip correctly & many say yes but dont really now. For the legs i would suggest you go a horse shop or the canine dog shop & buy slick n easy stone
