Where Can I Find A List Of Dog Clubs In My Area?

 Share

Recommended Posts

I'd like to do some training during the week, in the evening. Doesn't have to be anything too formal. Obedience only at the moment, maybe agility or flyball in the future. Does anyone know of any clubs? I live near the airport and I'm willing to travel 20-30 minutes max.

Failing this, is anyone else in the area interested in finding a spot where we can meet up to do some onlead training?

CP - you know that one.

Sutherland - they train on Sunday mornings and do some nights Mon, Wed and I think Friday. this is again geared towards those that want to trail.

Agility is on Wed, you have to be in their class 3 to be able to ask to go to agility.

Concord - not sure what day they train on.

Homebush - Sunday morning and Tue evenings for those that was to trial. Not sure if there is agility.

And there is a flyball club I think they train in Tempe you will have to ask Marylin with the death scotish terrier at the Peakhurst club she does flyball at that other club.

I really think we should have our own club ruthless, I can be the treasurer you be the secretary :happydance2:

My idea, I'm the president

:happydance2: Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I wont be the secretary.

Im a comittee member of 3 clubs already  Im a sucker for punishment :provoke:

However when it comes to the idea perhaps you can search through my threads from the past..... I had this idea looong time ago. DOLers couldnt decide on the night nor on the area to train.

But lets propose it again, Ill be up to it if its within 15-20 minutes drive from my place.

Oh and all gear allowed

good I can get another 2-3 people on regular basis that would be willing to come to training near the airport.

Ruthless you will need to design a logo

I can do Tue, Wed or Thur.

So what would we do??

Im after improvements in my training in drive for obedience purposes and trails.

Tracking

Would love someone with agility knowledge and the gear....

I don't do logos :)

I think Chopper could trial eventually if I put some commitment into training him. I'd like to do obedience at the moment.

I'm free those nights too. There's two parks near my house, I don't see any reason why we'd need permission to use them if it was onlead work. You might get the occasional off lead dog, but they're generally empty. What d'you reckon?

Ooooh a weekday classs!!! Good idea girls! :)

Ive just started working day shifts- I might be able to come!!

Obedience for me.

I'd love to do agility, I think Evie would be really good at it, but she is certainly not reliable offlead so that rules that out. But if her obedience got better...

I can't say yet which days are good for me as I am not even there ;) But my guess is that I will be very flexible.

I would like to do:

obedience (in drive training, distraction work and some exercises for competitive obedience: fig 8, SFA, stays. I am not really interested in heeling exercises for an hour like in a normal obedience club)

tracking

maybe agility (I have 8 jumps, weaves, contact trainer, table)

btw I would like to be able to use my clicker during training.

I already said - all gear allowed.

We will love your agility stuff too!

I naver had a class as such in mind, for that we would need an instructor, and no Im not volounteering.

:)

Ok, what do we need to do to get this up and running? It'd be good to have an instructor. Maybe we could poach Wendy ;)

What's the place in Tempe? Do we need permission to use it?

OH would make agility equipment, but no point unless we have grounds with somewhere to store it.

What do you mean by "I naver had a class as such in mind"? Do you mean the obedience stuff I proposed? Coz I don't think we would need an instructor for that. Well at least I don't think we do LOL. I just thought everybody will work on what they want to work and we can team up if it's something similar or if we need some distraction work :) I would love to help as much as I can when not working with my dogs.

Btw I would really really LOVE to do some tracking!
