LilBailey
Hi I was going to enter my first VCA agility trail at Ballarat then the one in Warnambol but I have since found that I need to have had my dogs measured 6 months before the comp in order to compete. I'm confused and dispointed that I may not be able to compete and will have wasted money on entries. Can some one help me out with what the ruling is please. MolassesLass
The ANKC agility rules state that the height card must be gained "not more than two months before the trial" (rule 4.2). Do you train at a club where you could access two judges to do the measuring? ANKC Rules page
whitka
I had Toby offically mearsured at the first trial we were competeing in, I had unoffically mearsured him first but I asked the trial secratery if I could still enter and she said enter and just get him measured at the trial. I didnt get mhy height card till a few months later but I was still able to compete without it. Edited October 6, 2008 by whitka
Silvawilow
I had my dogs measured at the first possible trial I could on the day of the competition - I just checked with the trial secretary first. Most are pretty understanding that we here in the country don't have competitions week in week out and driving 5 hour round trip to have dog measured is a little unreasonable. I measured all mine before the comp and the one that I thought may be borderline height wise I put in the next height category just to be safe! scubadog30
I think what you should of been told, is that you have to start trialing within six months of getting them measured or you will have to get them remeasured before competing. We certainly didn't wait six months before getting my dogs measured, and we've NEVER had any problems or issues Edited October 9, 2008 by scubadog30
DeltaCharlie
Ive got the same issue with mine. They have been measured for ADAA but never competed with ANKC before. We have our first one next weekend and I am just going to have to get them done that morning.
JulesP
I am a tad confused with this measuring! It seems a bt weird that you have to get them measured no more than 2 months before your comp when it is a life time measure. Am I misreading here?? smisch
I got Jock and Snoops done at training one night, we had height cards there and so two judges who also train at our club meausred the boys and I filled out their height cards, with their rego numbers and then the height was written and signed off. .
